    Can you change the ETK badge on engine cover into Ibishu? I think it would be better. Also, will it have both 4 and 6 cylinder ETK engines or only 4?

    That's a pretty good idea. I even have more "fascia" designs in mind, without breaking the character of the car.

    @georgy 1991
    Yeah I could do that. I was thinking only 6 cylinder.

    Teeny tiny progress today

    Sooo faaaar it looooks like it has a good chance to get finished, although I don't like to promise anything. And actually the etk engine is basically because its the one modern I6 there is in the game already.

    Progress: interior surrounding bits done + trunk interior.

    render_22.png

    Plan for tomorrow (writing this so I don't forget myself lol)
    - Inner hood panel texture
    - Trunk inner side
    - Hood, door, trunk hinges
    - doodle some of the front designs i have in mind - Add foglights/HIDs in the bumper maybe? Also exhaust holes or smth in the back.
    - start the interior, try to do the dash at least, hopefully center console/tunnel too

    I believe others along with myself would be interested in seeing a hybrid or full electric option, with totally flat floor and front end designed with engine mounted transversally!

    Looks super promising, awesome stuff! :D

    Would you mind sharing some pics of the wireframe? Vehicles in BeamNG should be low/mid poly to avoid 'spiky' deformation.

    Look at the vanilla game vehicles for an idea of correct polyflow.

    It will :D

    @some :electric version will happen 100%. Hybrid and transverse engine not so sure. I wanted to just stick the electric motor as if it was an ICE in the front, with clutch and tranny, rwd. It doesn't make a lot of sense but it will be fun to drive. I want to get the car finished first and then I can start thinking variations

    @Attesa_GTX Thanks :D

    @CrimsonCrocodile : Sure

    This is with Lv1 Subsurf on the body, actual mesh is super simple. A retopo can be done if necessary though. When I'm inventing a car on the go having a perfect topo isnt usually a priority for me, I usually try to get the shape first and then I retopo. Same with this, when I actually have all the parts done, I will start checking everything around and optimizing.

    @mxer125 : Ommm, 2020?

    Wow, The wireframe looks very well done, I wouldn't mind seeing a Hybrid version at least. Hybrids are very common for Japanese manufacturers to do. Every Japanese auto manufacturer has at least one hybrid model or variant in its lineup. That being said, a 6 cylinder engine seems to be an odd choice, maybe consider using one of ETK's 4 cylinders?

    Or maybe port the engines from the 89' Pessima as it would make sense as those engines are from the same manufacturer, just a thought

    Thx! And yes, it's not that I don't want to make a hybrid version, I just have no idea how to make that in Beam eheh... About I6's, it's mostly that I love them, there isn't a whole lot more to it. But think of the new Supra as mentioned before, or well, that the most legendary JDM cars have inline 6s actually. Even the Hakosuka which the Miramar also kind of resembles. So I don't think its actually that odd. The 4 cyl ETK engines I really don't enjoy.

    @sainther I could indeed port the whole Pessima AWD drivetrain

    @Kueso

    And here are some doodles for alternate front designs. Yes, I learnt 3D because I just could never manage to draw the way I'd like to lol

    Looks great dude, absolutely love how this is coming together.

    Im happy to help out with the suspension if you need a hand.

    Its no harder than any other jbeam to get a working model.
    Getting a really good performing suspension setup comes down to the same things as real life.
    Low unsprung mass, stiff control arms and mounting points, with geometry and dampers that allow the tire to keep an optimum contact patch.

    Lots of math, lots of compromises and redesigning.
    Amazing results to be had when it all comes together though.
    There are some great articles online that go into depth regarding suspension design and geometry.

    I can't believe this is happening, someone making a lore friendly modern car for Beam that isn't just an ETK or Hirochi AND not using Automation? I must've gone into the wrong reality today. serious question though, will there be aftermarket parts for it like there are on the 60s Miramar or will it mostly just be a stock thing?

    I will probably use that help then! With setup too, because I can only set up cars for drifting... As for the component design I'll just try to get it as theoretically good as possible. That is something I do know since I am studying mech eng after all. I also plan to modify the body jbeam not just to fit the new shape but to make it stronger and heavier, as it is a modern car.

    @CaptainZoll Thanks! I think I will make it optional though, as I don't think it fits the stock car (not too clean)

    @Lil Rocket Man Remember not to sleep else you risk waking up in a different reality! As for tuning I don't know, I'll think about that when I'm done with the stock version lol. But if you mean spoilers lips and flares, um, probably?

    Tiny details. Hinges done, started work on interior. But I just had a different idea so it might not look like this at all.

    I like the design a lot! Just a couple things to make it a bit more realistic. The b-pillar is never perfectly vertical in a real car. The Nissan IDx which I'm sure is a big inspiration for this car, has a slight taper towards the top. Also doors are a lot thicker than they would seem. Mainly for the window regulator and crash bars. You could probably add another inch and a half to the thickness of the doors and not take away from the design at all. These are all just suggestions so please feel free to ignore me lol.
