I've been working on this for the last couple of weeks, it's an open-wheeled buggy using autobello suspension and engine parts. It is inspired by the open-wheeled VW based buggies which make up multiple classes in various desert racing series. The front axle was brought forward 40cm, making it more stable, and I've replaced the original body with a spaceframe. I've also slightly modified the coilovers to get a bit more suspension travel compared to the Baja variant of the vanilla autobello, and added a bunch of stuff like a new front lightbar, a baja style rear lightbar, a digital dashboard, and probably more stuff as I keep working on it. The end result is a vehicle that can drive fairly fast around DesertTrails for it's power, and is also great fun around dirt tracks. Since it uses slightly modified autobello suspension jbeams, I've also made the wide front suspension, and stock rear suspension compatible with it after modifying them to accept 5 bolt wheels. This means that you are able easily build enjoyable road-going variants as well. I have a few more things to tweak on it before release, but I'm already open to comments or suggestions.
Beta now available for download. https://www.beamng.com/resources/trackfab-autobello-buggy.9678/ I plan on creating front and rear wings for it in the future, if that's what you're asking.
I feel like some weights and low beam headlights should be added to the front, other than that, this things great! It reminds me of the Dune Buggy from GTA V, or my family's VW-Powered buggy we had some years ago.
its a very nice mod and fun to drive. if i could add one thing, id add the autobello logo on the front. it gives a little more story, like it could be a side project of autobello. anyway well done
I think I found why, should be fixed in the next update. That's in the plans, I know the current facemelting lightbar isn't really what you'd consider road legal.
try in safe mode and if it still doesn't show up then redownload the file, if it shows up then bad luck buddy gotta find the conflicting mod manually
It isnt colorable for some reason..Seems like thats a bug on my end. And also i have a suggestion What about a 1.5 I4 DOHC from the Covet as a engine swap?
Yeah, that's getting fixed in the next update, along with, hopefully, skin support. As for suggestions for water cooled engines, that's something that's not planned for now, since it would require a bunch of things to be made properly. I'd also have to check the visual quality of the engine, since some of the older engines don't look super nice, which isn't an issue when its hidden under a bonnet 99% of the time, but is something I'd prefer avoid for this car. However if anyone wants to try it, the buggy uses the same engine mounts as the stock autobello so it should be fairly easy to get pre-existing mods working for it. Main issue might be clipping with parts of the rear subframe.
