AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH thanks for telling thats the problem --- Post updated --- whoops accidently put the image there the car is the covet its gauge textures are missing
I was wondering about the engine thermal logic. Thrashing my usual ETK 3000i around American Road, especially the freeways, I've got my temperatures up to 239F/115C for coolant and 261F/127C for oil and while the temperature gauge is deep in the red, I've got no warnings on the UI and the car still has full power. Is this realistic?
Many thanks. All is in order now! Fixed some issues of outdated mods suddenly working again as well. Odd. It just doesn't seem that traffic responds to emergency vehicles any more. So I don't know if that feature has been removed.
115 C is quite hot but still below overheating treshold: 90 C = thermostat opens fully, maximizing coolant flow to the radiator. 91/92C = Coolant temp number becomes yellow as this temperature means that at least currently the engine is becoming hotter altough the cooling system is fully active. 115 C = coolant temperature sign in the main UI becomes red. This is probably realistic as most people would prefer to be warned before the coolant actually overboils. 120 C = The pressured system can not longer keep the coolant a liqid and it becomes vapour which increases system pressure and the safety valve - ususally integrated into the coolant tank - releases boiling coolant into the atmosphere. Part of it may hit the glowing hot engine block, further increasing steam generation. This is probably the last moment when in real life you can stop the car and the engine without lasting damage. Above 120 C = boiling coolant and pressure waves reduce coolant efficieny to unsustainable levels.... expect critical engine damage very shortly. Also the loss of coolant through the emergency valve means that there is less coolant in total available to dissipate the heat... even once cooled down, the tolerances of the engine for hard driving is reduced. Continuing to keep the engine running will cause major overheat to all components that are no no longer watercooled. The oil will take part of the heat and will see its temperature rise while the cylinder temperature races ahead. Oil begins to overheat.... head gasket may be blown. The end is near.... Oil is overheating.... lubrication properties collapse and metal on metal friction causes immensive heat..... engine death is imminent. Murderous friction heat heats up the pistons to extreme levels.... the cylinder wall becomes more and more tight arround the piston further increasing metal on metal friction. This is the horrible sound you hear on cars starved of oil shortly before destruction. The pistons become so hot that they become welded into the cylinder wall. The brutal stop of the still running engine causes catastrophic damage to all moving parts.... you might even see connecting rods sever in half. Congratulations... that smoking steaming pile of metal is now all that is left of a once good engine. Should this happen while driving at speed.... the locked up engine may cause a loss of control crash as the wheels on all driven axles will lock up.
Maybe mentioned before, but this is a frequent problem area for the AI on East Coast USA. Also, regarding the AI, I often find that they can't quite comprehend turning around. Often what happens is they slam the car in reverse, gun it, get stuck, and just blow the motor. It seems like they apply too much throttle.
Custom inputs are saved under Documents\BeamNG.drive\settings\inputmaps. If resetting the controls in-game doesn't work, try deleting the inputmaps directory, and the inputs should all return to default.
I thought it would be proper to discuss it here, If not please move this bost or redirect me to the correct place as it is a Dev sided idea if you will. Will we see a Forestry service skin for the Roamer/ D-Series in the next update? Again if this the wrong section please redirect me or move this post. Thank you. and apologies if this is the wrong section
No tires in configuration, but tire can "burst", the rim ^^ Message displayed and on the app. (Not just since 0.17 I think) And another with "low rider" configuration, the spring does not rest on the bar
I don't know why but for whatever reason I can't use hydraulics. My keys are binded correctly but they just won't work. I've cleared my cache and gone through my mods already as well. --- Post updated --- Disregard my complaint, I seem to have fixed it
Comparing to other cars wheels in Grand Marshals tend to fell of way too easy. I even lost a wheel by "wall riding". Also there is one spot on this unmarked road on Hirochi Raceway that grabbing and sometimes eating tyres.
Continuing on from my previous post on Italy (since it don'st have it's own official content discussion) the dock? in Fastello is too shallow and needs to be dredge a little more.
a thing with lower importance but thought id mention it anyway : When using winds app, the winds wont affect newly spawned traffic cars
