So as you may or may not know, @synsol likes to busy himself between updates by making small add-ons to existing cars. They include diesel versions of the Sunburst, i-Series, and both Pessimas, a Hirochi SBR6 (along with the ability to swap that engine into the Bolide, and the SBR4 engine into the Piccolina), more diesel versions for the D-series and Roamer, more service skins for the 800 series, and pair of two-door LeGrans that seem to have been forked from the main LeGran listing since the recent body shape tweaks, among several older things. Most recently, he released a mod that gives the ETK 800 and K a turbo I3 as a base model. What I'm wondering is, how canon is this mod? In the as-yet-unwritten pages of BeamNG lore, is @synsol's I3 a replacement for a previous NA I4, or was it the base model from the very beginning?
Most of the reason I was asking is, I'm starting to lean very seriously toward getting into modding myself (yes, I know I've been spouting noise about this on and off for a long time without ever actually doing it, but still), and had at one point contemplated base models of these cars. An NA I4 config (Euro-only, as the US has very little market for a luxury car with maybe 135 HP) would be trivial to make with no modding whatsoever, except that it could probably use some wheel covers as ETK's selection of alloy wheels is pretty much all used for at least one vanilla config. HOWEVER, I would want my mods to mesh smoothly with both vanilla content and the best of other people's mods, in order to create a seamless system of lore, because I'm obsessed with things making sense. Because @synsol is a dev, his mods, to me, are halfway to being official content and take priority over mods made by non-staff members. That's why I'm asking this. I could go right now and knock together an NA base model ETK just with the parts selector (except for the aforementioned hubcaps), but I wouldn't want to do it if it would conflict with a dev's idea of a base model - so unless it can be justified as the "original" base model while the turbo three-pot is a later, desperate attempt to keep up with more stringent emissions standards, I wouldn't want to spread it around and leave people confused as to which base model is "more canon".
My logic is simple. If the devs wanted them to be canon, they would be in the official game, and they are not.
