Ai Awarness

In the ai beamng video, its shown that ai avoid parked cars which is nice, but every time i spawn ai cars they dont see themselves and its %100 rear-end crashes all the time. On highway you see 3 crashes per minute all resulting from rear ending slower cars. Will this be fixed?

 

yes, it was a glitch on the current version of the game and will be fixed on the next update

 

I would say they have fixed it. I like doing banger racing around ovals and we want the ai to hit slower/parked cars so I hope they don’t “fix” it they just need to add it as a separate option. I thought they had tbf with the new traffic option?

 

when i spawn traffic via "esc-->ai-->traffic-->spawn(normal)" does this make traffic "random"? Do i have to use ui app for spawning tarffic in traffic mode?

 

Spawning traffic using esc - ai - traffic - spawn (normal) will spawn AI traffic, with awareness.

 

I remember pre-0.17.1.1, AI cars in chase mode (through the AI control app) were super aggressive against their target, yet they avoided other cars. Is this still going to be present in the upcoming hotfix, or will AI cars in chase mode through the AI control app ignore other AI cars completely?

 

AI awareness needs to be available in chase & flee modes too, at least as options. One fun thing I started doing recently, but now I can't with the hotfix that broke it, is chasing a suspect through traffic. It kind of worked in the previous build, where the fleeing suspect was going around the traffic cars most of the time. Now they just plow into traffic and the chase is over. Boring. Now that we have official traffic AI awareness is a must.

thats how i used it always and all the rear ends happened like this, i guess i will try the ui app for this

 

The AI is broken at the moment, and will be fixed in the next update (most likely soon.)

 

actually now i tried it, you cant set ai cars in traffic mode, you can set only yourself to traffic mode and your car will drive itself, but it still wont see other ai cars. Anyways waiting for improvement take your time do it right ^^

No it seems ruined again of today’s update! They no longer crash again! They just avoid everything

 

cant please everyone lol xD they avoid in random too?

 

They avoid in random yeah, there is a “stop awareness” button in the traffic controls but it seems a bit bugged at the minute.
