I have been making a bit of a visual push with the R20 (BeamNG mod I am working on) lately, and have noticed that broken bumpmaps can look surprisingly artistic xD So Blender has been my life for the last few days. I am however getting some reasonable results. I've also returned to Two Point Hospital lately with some of its DLC, and I am really enjoying it.
Back to college i go this week, first lessons etc maybe i will make an attempt to be a bit more social not just completely be quiet like i did last year.. one lesson i literally didnt speak to anyone for like a month..! even by my standards that isn't healthy.. soo i will talk now (and have talked!) It's odd, in some of my classes people actually talk to me as well as me talking to them.. it feels a little bit odd really someone actually bothering even just someone asking me a question, you asked me and not someone else.. that is quite nice, even being able to hold quite funny conversations too! but then it felt like the other classes people would avoid talking to me like its the plague or something.. not sure why really but that was that.. hopefully that doesn't happen *shrug*.. I feel like i want to talk to people, but i really dont want to start conversations.. my life honestly *rolls eyes* sometimes i do start convos and then it goes really well... other times i just get a straight answer to my question and thats it convo over ... is this what being a human being is like?
Decided to give head tracking a go... This wasn't done with TrackIR, this was done using Opentrack (Link safe, Github,) more specifically the Aruco AR marker tracking system that is integrated into it. While it's capable of tracking all 6 Degrees of Freedom, I only had "Yaw" enabled since tracking issues really start to become prominent with "Pitch" and "Roll" enabled, and XYZ tracking is absolutely horrendous unless given ideal tracking conditions. It's not quite VR, but since BeamNG.drive will probably never support true VR, this is the next best thing.
BeamNG did support VR once upon a time if my memory serves me correctly. But it wasn't a recommended experience. With that said, I am still hopeful that one day VR support will be a thing. I don't have a headset, but when I do end up with one BeamNG seems like it would be fun, in a seeing your life flash before your eyes kind of "fun" xD
My ideas quite exact the same. I also believe I once took notice from that VR working with BeamNG, though not sure, and I also don't own one yet. Not only for the crashing immersion but also the driving experience it would be a really nice feature I think. I tried head tracking years ago with xbox anf Forza Motorsport 4 but I didn't like because if you turn your head you need to keep your eyes on the screen in front of you and that felt very unnatural to me. Later I saw YT video of Occulus Rift working with Rfactor (which I also 'played' those days) and that looked pretty awesome already, let alone BeamNG. --- Post updated --- Found a YouTube link from 3yrs ago..
As for personal stuff going on, not a lot, just having a weird "double scroll bar" bug with the site and it seems my avatar image in the top right of the web page is not aligned correctly is anyone else having this bug or am I going insane?
Seems fine to me, but maybe I'm already insane and you're just normal? (Firefox on Win7, Firefox on Android seems fine too)
Yeah thats what I mean and I have a duplicate scroll bar alongside the normal scroll bar on the right hand side the normal one is on the far right as normal, but there is one inside that that doesnt show the up arrow on it it goes under the grey and dark grey border at the top
