would anyone be intrested in me making a video about how beamng performs on a surface pro 4?
including various mods and stuff to demostrate its general performance when loaded with even 60 mods
i remember alot of forum members being suprised about me getting it to run on a surface pro gen 1.
my surface pro 4 is the shitty m3 model with 128 gb ssd (wich wil be upgraded to 500 gigs in a hour or so)
but as far as my testing concluded the device performs decently well with beamng drive with basic maps and native resolution.

I have the i5 model. It's not a gaming device in general.

As you said, it can only run the game somewhat smoothly on Lowest and Gridmap.
Anything more complex is sub 20FPS, especially at the native resolution which is crazy high.

people, please, i've run this game on a 2012 mac pro server with the low end 4 core xenon processor, an ATI radeon 5670 and with windows 8 installed on it. And, combine that with me play... suffering trought Aquaman: Battle For Atlantis for the indigo lunchbox, i can safely say that i've seen what purgatory looks like.

trust me. i've run this game on legit all hardware that you can imagine that supported the game.
    pentuim d with a 256mb gpu? done.
laptops. tablets. ATM machines (you might remember that video. sadly its down and i dont have the video anymore)
i got a decent idea to what could run it heh
but i undervolted my cpu and gpu in this device. wich means the cpu doesnt throttle from 2ghz to 900mhz when maxing cpu/gpu at the same time.
instead its 1500~ mhz wich doubled the fps.
might make that video before or after the screen replacement.
(the screen slid of my desk while i was cleaning the old glue of the device)
i wanna pickup a i5 model. or a i7 model later down the road since it is a nice device and does run some decent games
beamng. euro truck simulator dirt rally gta...5... (yeah i tried to run gta 5 on 4gb ram. 30 fps on 1280x900 or so)
but it kinda sucks that there is a lack of documentation/testing of the surfaces performance apart from drawing and other stuff microsoft recommends
and videos like these wil help people decide if they want to buy the game if only they have is a device with sub optimal hardware

then again the term **playability** is different in peoples eyes.
i'm fine with 20 fps minimum. 25 preferred minimum.

Lol @ performance. I've actually run this game on a GPD Win. I got around 10-20 fps. Playable? Kinda. It has a mobile chip, and 4 gigs of ram with no GPU. Expect to be able to play the game, but don't expect performance.

do you know if it's even possible to tun ths on a power pc machine?
mabye a late titanium powerbook or a mac pro g5? obviously with some software fiddling done to them.

I like how this thread on how beam runs on modern tablets/ thin n' lights has devolved into "hey guys and gals, lets find literally the oldest machine that will boot BeamNG.Drive!"

At 1080p low settings (with AA enabled) I can get 40fps with two vehicles spawned on the i7 model - only tested for about 2 mins though as it was plugged in and getting pretty toasty.

damn the i7 is my dream model >.<
i reckon you can get those scores up by *overclocking* and downvolting the gpu and cpu by using throttlestop.
lowering voltages are not dangerous for your device. it'll result into cooler and longer battery life
lemme fire up the crippled surface real quick

It tanks pretty hard at native res, drops down to about 25 fps
And I only downloaded Beamng to test this idea haha, I don't game on this, only use it for uni stuff :)
