Just saw this in the news: "A Dutch man and woman died at car accident:" 'A truck driver drove into the van where the 2 people were in. They were catapulted and their van set *FIRE!*. Both people died in the accident.' Cars do set fire.. This happens in other countries too. So, cars can set fire. Also, R.I.P. man and woman.
compromise??? why not make a propanetank, landmines or (even already suggested) a simple "bomb"? cars dont (or extremely rarely) explode, but many other things do... but HOW TO SCRIPT/CODE/CREATE A TRIGGERABLE EXPLOSION ??? if even possible at the moment? (cough#horriblePARTICLESYSTEM#cough#cough#NODES?#cough#Gravityvolumes?#cough)
cars might explode in case the car has a fuel tank built in front just like this vw beetle below or fiat 500,600,750
Firstly, old thread. Secondly, it isnt the location thats an issue. Neither gasoline or automotive diesel are explosives. Doesnt matter what conditions you put them under, they will not explode. They burn, they burn quite severely, they do not explode. You want an exploding car, run it from a hydrogen fuel cell. Hydrogen gas does explode. Gasoline and diesel do not. So no, a car with a front fuel tank still wont explode.
Actually, I recall reading of some incidences wherein ambulances will explode. An important tool in medical operations is pure oxygen, which is a bad combination of highly flammable and stored in pressurized canisters. A rare event, and I still don't think it a major A-list feature to be added by any means, but still: if you see an ambulance on fire, get behind something or RUN. Or, I guess, try to save any people trapped inside. That would probably be the more chivalrous option.
Nope, sorry bruh. In an impact, those would just spray fuel all over the place. They may cause a fire, but they will never cause an explosion.
I have not read all the topic, but from what I can gather... Cars to not explode, they can though light on fire. One thing that can give the effect of exploding is if the gas tank is ruptured, the ruptured fuel is let to spread over the remains, in which the petrol will start slowly evaporating and mixing into the air, and then at that point, a spark is created and the fumes are lit. Still not an explosion per say, but quickly expanding CO2 from the flame may give the effect of the wreckage being 'Exploded'
Pretty much. "Just" a case of a rapidly expanding fire. Not an actual explosive force. Of course just is a word used lightly, gasoline fires are nasty as fuck and you want to get the hell away from them as quickly as possible of course, hell treat it as an explosion if you want.
I meant specifically in regards to ambulances, I understand most people don't have much of a need to haul around compressed, pure oxygen. My post was more of a "did you know?" statement than an actual pro-explosion argument.
