A D-Series tow truck would be awesome for 0.18. Thoughts on the Wendover for 0.18? I think we'll probably get the Wendover then, but maybe it could be extended to 0.19. I wouldn't be surprised either way.
I think so. Drivetrain is already in game, it should be a config light car and considering its controversy they probably will avoid hyping it. The vehicle team has been working fairly fast lately. Without it, the Christmas content would be limited to AI improvements and updates to old content, which would be weird considering how much content we usually get in November/December. 0.15: content heavy car 0.16: big updates to existing car 0.17: content heavy car 0.17.1: big updates to existing car
I really don't get why some people are so against the Wendover. It's not a LeGran. Also, who doesn't love land yachts, too?
For some people it is the fact that they are very similar. Same era, same engines, FWD, wedge shape. Also, being a large FWD transverse engine car, there just isn't many options for configs. No reasonable way to fit a large engine or sporty suspension in and it should be fragile. Personally, the size difference is enough to (barely) justify it for me, but I don't think it's what the game needs right now. There's plenty of content that would be healthier for the vehicle roster at the moment, especially with career mode coming soon (whether it be this December or not). Budget race cars, tossable roadsters, cars from new countries, end game career mode content, generic traffic cars that are not from the 1970/1980s, etc... Also, it's honestly scary knowing that this might take the spot of a 1970/1980s RWD V8 American tank (now it could take the spot of a sedan-tank AND a coupe-tank...). The game is saturated by American cars and 1980s sedans, so this might be the last car like that for awhile. That niche could be half filled by a Moonhawk sedan, but the body style conversation has been had enough in the past few months to start talk about that...
Tbh I do want the wendover in game and I don’t really mind it being the next car in game but if no 80s V8 RWD full-sizes are made in the future due to this occupying the slot of 80s full-size American car then that’s gonna be sad because something like the Caprice has a lot more possibilities than a car like the wendover.
Personally, I would rather have something like a GAZ Volga, possibly with an optional weak-sauce 5.5L V8.
The base Miramar is basically a Lada --- Post updated --- Because half the people on here are children who just want supercars & other boring crap like that.
well, a game does need more variety, and giving us another gm like Rustbucket Would not be the best time at the moment. Spoiler: What i really want : ) CiCi FuFu when?
It's not just supercars, the only catagory we have much in is 1970-1990's sedans (and again, we are lacking an American tank from this era because both are FWD). No Euro trucks and only one kind of classic Euro car, no roadsters, no pre-war cars, few modern cars, no British/French/Sweedish/Australian/Soviet anything, the only classic Asian car we have ate a couple too many potato chips, etc... Again, I want the Wendover. I just don't think it's what the game needs right now. And it would be really depressing to see the Wendover be the car to be released alongside career mode V1. As professor meme jokes about above, the Civetta Fulmine would add a lot more to the variety of the game than the Wendover. Spoiler: April Fools idea for a Civetta
an interesting thing to point out, is that once we have the wendover, we will have a typical fullsize (-ish, at least) american car from every decade, from the 50's to the 90's. I would hope that if they do make another american car, it's at least something prewar.
What you can do with a car? Race, crash and drive. You can do two of them in BeamNG but it's hard to achieve third one - driving. Maps are too small (yes, even Italy) for cruising and going from one corner of the map to another one take minute or two. That why cars like 2gen Pessima, LeGran, Special etc. are rarely in use because right now these have one purpose - die in the crash. That why every car should have at least drag/sleeper/custom powerful config and also for old cars - derby configs. Look at new GM. Now you can use it for derby, race and drag.
Stares at massive gap between 2002 and 2008 with no vehicles in production. I think there's another important place that critically needs to be addressed first.
^ Those years were just kinda boring IRL, save for a couple exceptions like the 2010 (close enough) SLR speedster (words cannot describe how much I want an ETK inspired by that mad contraption) I've mentioned before, the 1990's are not my favorite era for cars but it's hard to deny they are affordable and a good comprimise between modern performance and old school simplicity, which make them perfect for career mode choices. Yet we only have the 200bx and Covet if we consider only the sporty vehicles.
