I'm afraid this is gonna take a loooong time.
So far it's only a test with the miramar jbeam. upon analyzing, i have decided that a modification of it will do well. but a lot of scratch jbeam will be made. be patient as this is new for me, so far i have been able to learn everything i have attempted to, and i am able to understand the jbeam files fairly well, but it will take very long to get this working well and more so with a level of quality that is matching to the 3d model.

keep in mind the Miramar Jbeam is nowhere near as safe as a modern car.
you will most definitely have to adjust values to create proper crash zones, etc.
    looks great though!

i will do my best regarding that, but its no easy task at all.
so far the jbeam has been adjusted in shape, now im in the process of adjusting node weights and beam strenghts/damping

from what i have seen this is more complicated than i initially thought so as not to cause instabilities... any tips are much appreciated

I think it would be better if you used major parts of the official miramar jbeam since recreating a whole new one would almost be a waste of time since the jbeams would be very similar, you could just skin it to parts of the miramar jbeam and then tweak placements and values to suit the modern miramar, would save tons of time!

I agree but since this is a modern recreation of it wouldnt it be much safer and have better crumple zones and such?
Still I think he should totally do that for now and adjust it once the mod has taken shape. very excited for this, and i think he should do the miramar jbeam and focus on all the other aspects for now.

I'm trying to make crumple zones in the frame and generally adjust the stiffness to the new structure. Aka make the greenhouse stiffer and more solid but the hood and trunk zones lighter and more deformable. But as you might now that's delicate stuff and its easy to mess the jbeam up. Anyways that's where I am at now. Progress will be ultra slow from now, but i'm not losing motivation. Eventually I will have some proper time to work on this and big progress will be made. Once the frame is sorted the rest should be quite easy. Although it depends of course on the level of detail I go into, since I do want to make stuff like a completely new rear sub-frame and suspension.

Btw, off topic, but the reason I wont have barely any time for this is that I am now working on actual real life car design as part time job :D

Hey Velstydez, I am in love with the interior you made, but wouldnt a car that modern have airbags? The middle of the steering wheel looks a little small for that. Again its no big deal I'm just wondering.

also including the SRS AIRBAG symbol would be a nice touch!

The passenger airbag does take up a lot of space where the current glove box is so if you leave that one out I completely understand. But a steering wheel one could be more easily added.

Edit (again): looking back at the model it would be possible to design the glove box to leave room for the airbag. Really it wouldn't be that noticeable if it came out from behind the box, all youd need to represent it is a airbag symbol.

    About the engines:
Because In-Canon this would probably be made solely as a limited-edition nostalgiaboner mobile, I'd think some direct-injected four bangers (1.6 and 1.9) would do it just fine. Seeing as how those engines are already in-game and wouldn't be a hassle to model.

Hey so besides the airbag suggestion (see my last post) I have a few other things to add. A 2-door variant would be really cool, especially one that could drive like a dodge hellcat or something and have a super cool engine sound. I'd like that.

Right now I have the etk engines ready, plus the electric version, and im pretty happy with that.

Umm, if I find a way to integrate them in the design maybe, but I don't think so. I know it's modern but it doesn't fit in the retro part to me. The ATs will be classic smooth converters, not farting dsg's.

Well there's a tiny lil bit of difference between suggesting airbag symbols and a 2 door variant lol. The airbags are a good idea and easy to implement, but the 2 door variant would be a tooon of extra work given the way the car is made and the level of detail. Maybe for 2030

I know this is asking a lot but can u add an option of a V12 like the Toyota century?.if this is not possible can u atleast animate the paddles or the manual gearnob so it moves when I change gears.
