I was so close to multiplayer from different places. KeyBoard and Phone

This isn't really to say that multiplayer can't be done, because it can with keyboard and controller, but I want to rant cause I wanted to play with a friend online who I can't meet in person cause we live very far away.

So, first I joined a map just because when I would join a more than 1 player needed scenario it wouldn't work when I would join straight into the derby so I thought I could get beamng to recognize two different devices (keyboard and phone)

So, when I joined the scenario, I was excited cause two nametag things showed up and I thought it would work y' know, but then I noticed that the player 2 thing just had brackets, and nothing inside it. Then I noticed Player one had input from my phone and my keyboard.

I tested it just because I thought it would work and it didn't, which is really infuriating, because I was so close to actually doing it.

AND THEN, I actually got my damn computer/beamng to recognize the different devices,



AND IT DIDN'T WORK

If there isn't going to be a multiplayer version of beamng, just announce it on forums or on twitter for the love of everything holy

 

i really wish the devs would take online multiplayer more seriously, but right now they want to finish the career (which they should). I just hope that afterwards they at least try to do multiplayer.

 

They’re taking multiplayer seriously, it’s just a big task that isn’t all that feasible right now.

 

What exactly should they announce? Unless you know a time traveler nobody knows if it ever will or not, though it's safe to say it won't be in the near future. They do not have the R&D resources to develop every major feature at once; if they did this game would be a lot further in development after 7 years. Once higher priority features are finished I'm sure they will put more resources into researching it and at that time decide whether it's worth implementing or not.
