I suppose if you wanted it to look as though the car had been sitting and rusting for a while, it should be covered all over with rusty patches but with some signs of original paint left, sort of like this:

But anyway, the intentional rusted look matches that of the original Golf this is based upon, so I think you should leave the rust how it is:)

Yeah you are right. I will add some small metal patches on the sides so the rust won't look 100% perfect maybe 95%. I'll experiment around a bit. Thanks!

It's a crazy mess but that was intended :) Perfect for experimenting with different maps. I hope you still like it.

Any idea why the tire texture doesn't show up? I tried with different materials different uv maps but only the base colour shows up :/

    Got it :)

The problem was that I had two different Uv sets and the wrong one got exported.

Thanks to dkutch for the tire texture :) Saved some modeling and baking time.

Well it's ready for a version 1.00 release but I don't want it to replace the original Covet.

How do I make this to be a new vehicle?

I tried editing all jbeam files for half an hour from "hatch" to "hatchSC" and renamed all parts corespondly in my 3d software but all I got was this:

    Is there a faster way?

Yep. You only need to rename 3 things. The vehicle folder, the .dae model file and the .dts file. I suppose you would rename those 3 things to hatchSC, and leave everything else unchanged:D

    Re: Ibishu Covet-Budget Street Cred

    Ty for the reply.

Well this leaves me with no texture unless i change it manually in the material editor. By changing manually I mean I just have to click on it and it selects the texture automaticly. But after I save and reload the car it goes back to no texture :/

Do you mean the hatch.cahched.dts file? What does that do?
How do I change the name of the car when you select it with ctrl+E ?

    To change the name of the car in the cntrl e menu;
open the name.cs file and rename it from there.

Here is the extra rice you ordered.
Just drag the files in the hatchSC folder. Back it up first because it looks ridiculous :p

Now that's some serious street cred...

    Very nice mod.

A cardboard body kit could be fun as well:

Edit: I've noticed the front fender flares become propellers when you crash :p

Yeah...uhm think of it as spinners..for the fender.
Seriously now, I tried to fix that but didn't succeed. It was far worse before, belive me.

On the cardboard kits...let's stay at least somewhat classy :).
