realistic? yes, but we took some liberties such as no tethered parts.

Okay! Also I wasn't trying to be rude or anything. It was just a suggestion/idea that I thought we could do but I guess not. Oh well.

The only way to simulate tethered parts would be to stop them from breaking entirely.

Also, mind you some parts like driveshafts and swaybars can only break at one end - by design - so they wouldn't go flying off the truck anyway.

Oh okay that makes much more sense cause I was confused when he said it and I just thought it would be something we could incorporate that's all.

So far I'd say pretty good but not super great but hey that's how it goes sometimes.

Got some stuff coming soon guys, just be patient with us. Were all trying our best to juggle life with digital life.
We're just about done with Overkill, and a few more skins needed to be added. Also the bow-ties and a few other misc parts have to be worked in.

Uploaded a separate test pack including a preliminary version of new axles and steering hydros (NewAxleText.zip, available in first post).

Pack comes with a naked preset (TEST) in default state of tune, equipped with all the necessary parts for new axle to work properly.

Please test and report your impressions.

Many, many, many thanks to @TrackpadUser for his precious suggestions. His knowledge was key in the development of these new parts for the truck.

    :)

first thing I noticed was how wobbly it is on my wheel compared to the other axle, my G27 moves left to right when I'm sliding around a corner or when I land and it's just not as bad running the other axles, in fact my G27 doesn't move left and right really at all running the old axles, don't know what could cause that but so far the suspension is great otherwise, though is it possible to make a steering limit of sorts so when the steering is gone the wheels don't hit the chassis?

EDIT: currently replacing test parts with old parts to see if I can find the source of the wobbliness in my FFB, likely the axle but I want to eliminate as many variables as possible just to be safe

EDIT EDIT: tracked it down to something in the steering, every other test part with the old axle's steering works like it did before, (with the exception of the test wheels, had to run the old standard wheels so the front wheels didn't fall off but I ran the old standard wheels on the test suspension with the test steering and didn't notice a difference in wobbliness so I don't think the wheels affected it either) I guess the source was kind of obvious the steering location is the biggest difference after all but I wanted to be sure

Just got some testing in, first impressions for controller are good! The rear steering feels quicker. I did notice however (and this may be due to the physical makeup of the new axle) that upon loosing a wheel and dragging the caliper there was some vibrations that looked a bit off and was making the axle bounce and spaz out. Forgive my crude illustration but it was quickly made to try and covey what I mean.

Just remember guys, the test axle and suspension uses stock settings. So that means the steer speed is way high which causes vibrations when turning. Also the bounce is because the shocks dont have a tuning on them. When the axle is implemented to replace the other axle the feel of it will return somewhat to normal.

I ran my custom tune to eliminate that bounce, bounce is exactly how it is with the other axle just with the force feedback wobble, which is really the biggest issue I've noticed so far

So, I'm now in the process of finalizing new axles for definitive inclusion in the main mod:

    - I found a severe bug in the rear wheel definitions, likely at the root of their unusual weakness upon direct impacts.

    - I fixed snappy steering hydros and improved wheel connectors to steering knuckles. Steering should feel more precise and articulation less abrupt on release.

    - Steering geometry could use some experienced fine-tuning and optimization. Improvements could probably tone down excessive bump-steer and maybe even help with the reported FFB issues.

    - Materials were also overhauled (see pic, not final).

    :)

    They already are.

I plan to do some clean-up later today and upload the updated test pack.
