Heresy has been committed just a few days ago. A sacred piece of art and machinery known as a 1968 Dodge Charger, was crushed because the owner claimed everyone was low balling for the car. A 68' Charger in this non running condition would be valued between 10,000 and say 60,000, and the offers were in that range, but since he thinks that is low balling it, he crushed it.

Not only that, but that remaining part of the car could also go toward restoring an entire 1968 Charger. There's people in the world that can restore cars that you'd swear could never look showroom levels of new ever again.

Like not too long ago, I watched a video where people took a burnt Dodge Challenger and made it look like nothing ever happened.

my mistake, it was a 70' Charger. The even better looking one. Still just as vile of a thing to do.

Oh, and get this. I just read an article on it, and it said he was asking for atleast 10,000 for it. I am part of a facebook group, and people were showing how much they would pay for it. Turns out, he told one person he could have it for 5K, and someone else said he knew the guy who got it for 3700. He claimed he was only getting 8500 for it. Regardless if he was looking for a high 5 digit figure or what the articles claim, this man showed no decency and wrecked the car as a whole. It still had the engine apparently. I think there ought to be a law against intentional vandalism of classic cars excluding hotroding and tuning and part swap.

It's crazy, but it's his car. People have wasted more money.

Even the man in my profile pic has allegedly destroyed more in terms of cars.

There’s a salvage auction ‘68/‘69 for sale if you’re feeling altruistic and vengeful.

I agree with you. I do think some preservation laws should be put in place to protect classic cars, especially from Hollywood. Kinda like the National Register of Historic Places, but for classic cars.

This would especially need to apply to Dodge Chargers, considering how many of them has been destroyed. I'd fear for the day the Dodge Charger ends up like old lost aircrafts like the Boeing 314 Clipper for example. 12 units of that plane were built, none of them survive today.

It may have been his car, but still. Like I said above, that could've went toward restoring an entire Charger. If it was me, and I had to get rid of it, I would've easily accepted the money people would offer. Instead of destroying it, I'd try to get that car to somebody who'd preserve it, and not let it end up being reduced to a mangled mess for a movie or TV scene.

If there's more value in the car's destruction, I'm fine with it. It's not like Chargers are rare or something.

Especially that junkyards, derbies, banger racing, filmmaking, etc. bring no-longer-manufactured parts onto the market.
Were we to preserve all the classics, what parts would we be preserving them with?

Really dude? Dodge Chargers not rare? That's like saying Pluto is a planet. Pluto's a dwarf planet, and second gen Chargers have ended up being made rare no thanks to Hollywood. Would you still say they're not rare if the last existing Dodge Charger got destroyed?

I found an article about this, with a video of the incident. The name of the a*****e behind this is Daniel Gagliardi, and honestly, actually looking at the car prior to it being crushed makes this even worse. It looked like it was in much better condition than what the OP initially stated. If anyone who restores classic cars got a hold of it, that 1970 Dodge Charger definitely would've had a decent future ahead of it.

Honestly, after seeing this, if Daniel Gagliardi here ends up getting the s**t beaten out of him by a bunch of angry people because of wasting this classic car like this, he'll get no sympathy from me. I'd rather save that sympathy for somebody who'd truly deserve it. Yeah, in case you haven't noticed already, I'm pretty p****d off by this.

20 for sale on just one website. They absolutely aren't rare.

Either way, the ones that deserve to be beat are the ones giving threats over a car.
