That's plenty good enough to run it on high detail with a few cars for traffic. My 4790k could muster 7~8 vehicles total before really slowing down, so you should be able to do that many especially if it's low-latency RAM in the system. The 8gb VRAM will help run highest detail textures, too, with some room to spare.
    Enjoy!

The Bob won't have any updates on progress for the next day or two, to show you folks. I needed a break for a few days for sanity reasons.
I will then re-start mapping and modeling with a vengeance by the weekend. So no worries here.
Will still be here for tech support, however. So do message in if you have any special feature requests, bug reports, feedback, or anything of the like; as this is best time for it.

Well, hope you have a good break, and btw, have you ever thought of making your own vehicle mod?

Yes, I have. I have procured a model from another game's mod respository and am in the process of asking author permission to re-work it if possible and host it here unbranded.
It is a 2003 Corolla (I have a 2010 model also that's a bit fancier/nicer made if the 03 doesn't work out), either would be based on the newer Pessima J-beam.
This would be done in my spare time, and still runs the risk of never even making it anywhere, depends on too many variables to promise things right now.
First I need to try and convert the model from proprietary 'City Car Driving' nvx2 model format right now, and only 3DS MAX can do it currently (which I do not have), with a plug-in.

I have been looking to making mods, (just getting started), decided to try something simple a lawn tractor, a Sears from 1969 that my mom did not know her parents had.

Oh wow, it's finally released? Might have to put Assetto Corsa down for a while to play around with this map :p

Yes, entirely. I am sure you will have a good time cruising through the subways and the mall in this map. Or trying to find both airports (well, one airport and one air strip at some other place in the map). Or going to find all the other things such as the 50 miles of highway or the dirt track.
I am quite sure you'll have fun.

    Errata:
The supporter private beta has 2 or 3 textures that no-texture, it's relatively minor however and isn't in the city portions. It will be fixed on the next update. It is only because I removed some assets before uploading not realizing that the textures were used elsewhere. I will entirely get to that.
If it bothers anybody, go into the f11 map editor,
choose mesh roads from the top button bar,
press 2 key on keyboard to select the 'position' option,
then click offending object (might have to click the top surface of it to select it).
Then scroll down the window on the right until you see the texture options, choose a different texture for sides then for the top (and bottom if need be), and you should be golden.
Repeat for any other objects that bug you out. If you make a mistake, hit CTRL+Z to undo. You may save your changes if you wish.
If you save changes, remember to delete documents\beamng.drive\levels\TSH folder before you update the map next time there is a supporter beta.

The mesh road objects are obviously on their way out anyways (they're only used for an old bridge or two yet, some jumps, and a median barrier here and there on the older sections).
Sorry about that, but these things DO happen. This DOES NOT affect the public version, only the private supporter beta (sorry!).
    --That is all.

Are there any diverging diamond interchanges in this map?

No, there are no diverging diamond interchanges in this map. I could add one if there's enough demand, however.

Lost over an hour of progress tonight due to dying-GPU related crashes. Really getting sick of that thing. Trying to get my hands on something this weekend to fix that issue.

Well, it's been giving me a lot of advance notice. It's been on a downward spiral since may when the substation blew up and the entire north end of the town lost power. Took out a LOT of things when it blew up. The 4790k system was never quite right after it, so after about 3 months I got that replaced with the Ryzen system, best bang for the buck. Trying to find something decent used under 200$ because new will only replace the exact card I have - might as well get something better while I'm at it. Not going to pay 200$ to buy the same card that's "just good enough" these days when I paid 262$ plus tax for the one I have 3 years ago in 2016. Have to work with what I have on a fixed income, though.

Yea, I under stand, stuff like will put you back

An idea for the city, a building or something that would act like a tourist destination like the space needle in Seattle, the Golden gate bridge, or even the Sun sphere right here in Knoxville. It would be interesting what you could come up with though.

Well technically you could argue the map is already on the verge of surpassing "mild adult humor" (just look at the Long John Silvers and Bed Bath and Beyond knockoffs), but by doing that would definitely put up a red flag for the Beamng Drive employees/moderators. Still, I highly doubt https://www.beamng.com/members/bob-blunderton.102419/ will do anything like that here, epically with the community waiting for the next release.

Well I am going to make more centerpiece buildings, though I'm not entirely sure it'd be shaped like a phallus*. I've already made some slightly-more detailed stuff (such as the Police Department, airport terminal, and so-forth) vs the typical brick-box building. I have many, many, many more centerpiece type buildings to go in, and a few to update (such as the subway station building, which will get some variations of-course, so it's not a one-building-fits-all type of deal). Some buildings are just plain place-holders until I detail them more or completely replace them. Of-course, they needn't be too fancy, as I'd rather have tons of FPS and detailed roads with mediocre buildings (unless again you can go into those buildings, then they SHOULD be more detailed as you'll surely be up close), then have mediocre FPS and fancy buildings.
I will be updating the buildings as areas are completed enough to know if they can afford / budget the detail. Plus I don't need to push my video card over the edge, this card is already on suicide watch so as it is. One day soon I will be wearing 'magic smoke' cologne for sure.
EDIT: Of all the people I made 100~200$ offers to on their Video Cards (all half a dozen up to 7 or 8 people), none of them messaged me back. Do they not know 1660 Super / 1660 Ti's have the 200~250$ market cornered and 2060's / 5700's have the 300~350$ market saturated? Have they all think they've got gold? They can burn them for what they want, I'll map on an Radeon Terascale 8490 GDDR5 1gb low profile 35w GPU before THE BOB over-pays - they're no match for this penny pinching [expletive].

*Don't think I haven't thought of that already. Though I think if the staff read this, they might be sharpening their ban-hammer by the time I get around to showing pictures of it. I already have a Sausage Fest restaurant that's going to be in the map, so I'll take it slow and easy before I get SLAMMED / HAMMERED by the ban hammer. Besides, I am already walking with a limp...

So before this post blows the ratings of this site completely out the door even worse than that building would-have, I must make haste - I down-clocked my broken card and got most of a mile of highway carved in by the mall - entirely re-doing that portion for better or worse to use my 'rural highway' kit. It will have a surface that is a bit imperfect, of-course as it's OLD (the entire area is a bit depressed over there), with road patches here and there to make it more valid that it's in dis-repair. Spent a good 6+ hours on it last night and still no-where near done. Should have it's own character a bit. Will try to get the abandoned Douglas towers in there too. For what it's worth, it should have a much better/longer merge where the highway comes together (by the tunnel I JUST added) when it's all said and done.
So will have some pictures to show for the new area in a day or two, it's going to take a LOT of re-doing to validate that area. I am completely revamping it. The abandoned mall will be staying put, however.

The collision isn't 100% on that object. It's actually a Grid Map object re-textured, I will have to fix that in short order. I know about it but I didn't think anyone would notice :x It's really a place-holder object to be honest but it works there.

New pillars for the highways (almost all of them, there will be another 'aged' model shortly)... Now they don't look like 2004 anymore. Also currently re-working the highway by the mall, not quite done yet.

So pardon the very unfinished nature of things, I've been working on this highway for two days now. It's entirely worth it though, and it's going to be quite fun driving with it's windy banked course as it weaves up the large hills past the mall (when driving FROM the city). The overpass here will now be an underpass as the new highway is quite a bit higher now, requiring a complete re-work of the interchange. I might be able to even add a double-decker section (like the other one by the industrial area) further out when it winds along the mountain.
That is all for right now. More pictures in a day or two as things get closer to done.
