for me, it's when you have the Light Runner music track playing and it sounds super high quality outside the car but inside the car it sounds like it's playing from the cars stereo system! so cool!

 

Popping hubcaps on curbs. Little, but fun.

 

The radios having song names written on them. Actually, car interior textures and signage as a whole.

 

the amount of made up brands, not only for car parts, but also non-car related things, like buildings in maps. I've gone looking, and there's at least 100 fictional brands.

If you hoist a car in the air and rotate one tire on an axle in one direction, the other tire will rotate in the opposite direction just like a real differential. Proves that nothing in the game is cheated and it's as close to real as possible.
