But why would we need more 60s cars? We have tons of them to go around. There's no variety if this game is 90% pre 1980s vehicles.
never say never, if something like it is not made by the devs then in time i'm sure a mod will be made
The germans like to do that though. Just look at the high end M-Series cars and most of what AMG makes, most notably the Mercades SL cars since they have similar styling. A fair number of the crazy German superars (Stirling Moss, original M8, multiple CLK varients) were based on more sensible platforms. The K-Series is modern enough for active aero, has a big enough engine bay to get something more powerful, and could look aggressive with a wide body kit and vented hood.
All i can say about this update is that it is going to be a big one. Unless they decide to split it up and keep us waiting another three months for the new car and give us a disappointing update.
I should have guessed that it would be a team effort. I know that @LJFHutch and @B25Mitch are both usually involved in maps, and the page on the wiki lists Christin Walther as an environment artist, but Luca is a name I haven't heard before. Is there a new developer on the team? As a sidebar, has the sign for AJ Auto Repair be retained or not? It would make me pretty sad if the only real concrete bit of story represented right now in the game's map assets was removed.
I wouldn't worry too much about how the paint works. The devs have said it's a WIP and they will still have to fine-tune the appearance of reflections on car paint. As for the rest of the lighting work, it looks absolutely stunning! Light and dark have a lot more contrast now, shadows seem a lot more distinct. Chrome/stainless steel surfaces look so much better, and every little detail in the textures now stands out as it should. I can't wait to see this new lighting system released in an update, it's utterly brilliant (no pun intended).
Yes for Aj auto repair and about Luca, he started work in Beam in the same time as me, but he's not really present on the forum I think. He did the fisher village on east coast for example.
Are you insinuating that the Fiat Multipla is not a handsome work of styling which only the most talented artist in Europe would be capable of designing?
On the subject of lighting: I like it, even without the paint adjustments. I especially like how headlights look now: they are almost perfect, in my opinion. Those reflections really give a feel of "polished glass" in a way the game didn't really do before.
See, that's exactly what they don't give for me. The current reflections look like that, the upcoming ones not so much.
