    1. An update every few months usually
    2. Every update adds a large bit of content, a new car or map or something even more exciting.
    3. Its a simulator, but you can crash for fun, hotlap, rally, most things you can think of with a car
    4. Mods, and upcoming career
    5. Not ATM, but there will be in the future
    6. With those specs, expect a good 60FPS or more on high.
    7. Great, ofc there a few toxic people but most people are helpful.
    8. better than most games i know. They are willing to take suggestions unless its something stupid
    9. I dont know

    Welcome to the forums.

Major updates come every 4 months with numerous minor updates/hot fixes usually seen in the month after a big release. You can find the devblog here to see past updates and sometimes larger developer diary's and see smaller development posts here. They have instagram, twitter, and youtube pages but these are generally used to announced things already posted on one of those two links.

There is a fair sized community here and on youtube with smaller communities on places like the subreddit.

It is a physics sim racer with soft body physics. Do not expect the driving model to feel like NFS or GTA and I would recommend at least a gamepad, preferably a racing wheel and gamepad. Career mode is not in the public release yet, but that still leaves sandbox, bus routes, campaigns and scenarios, and quickraces (quickraces can be on tracks, street cources, normal sky tracks and colorful sky tracks, and procedurally generated autocross style tracks.

Well, it is at the end of the day just a videogame. That being said, there's a lot of people with incredibly high hours logged on steam. Most of these people either make mods or use a lot of mods, though I personally have a lot of hours logged just from doing mostly quickraces. Mods can be additional cars or parts for cars, scenarios and campaigns, sounds, skins, and so on. It is worth noting, if you own the game
Automation you can export a car you build there to drive in BeamNG. Keep in mind, these exports are fairly simple, no interior and limited deformation.

There are several steam achievements tied to seasonal events and completing the 4 campaigns. These are slated to be reworked though. Career mode is WIP, so currently there is not really any achievement/progression system this in the official game.

Optimization improvements come with pretty much every update. Currently it's optimized very well. Not sure how your CPU will handle the game, but I use to play on a laptop with an i7 4500U and it handled it alright.

The community is as to be expected I suppose, it is an internet forum after all. As long as you follow standard internet forum etiquette (don't spam or be excessively rude or demanding, post things in appropriate sections of the forum, try to find answers before asking questions) there's plenty of people here willing to point you in the right direction for any questions you have. There's also a fairly active modding scene. Speaking of mods, stick to the official forums for those. Mods outside the forums tend to be stolen or just a visual model slapped onto another car (known as a mesh-slap).

A fair number of the devs, including the department heads, are active on the forums. You can see in the Update speculation thread, for example, that devs are fairly interactive. If you want an example of the devs putting in a suggestion: https://www.beamng.com/threads/larger-ibishu-trekker-wheels.38927/

This is a very ambitious project by a fairly small dev team (40-50 people), I wouldn't expect a full release any time soon. Technically we aren't even in beta yet, still alpha. There's been a couple of statements about them wanting to get career mode in soon, but there's still a lot missing from the game (A new UI was teased in 2018, big updates to lighting was revealed earlier this week, AI needs major work, and so on).

First off, welcome to the forums!

    1. Updates are usually every couple months. There are constant bug fixes and what not, so any issues with these updates are are solved within a week or two of their release.

    2. The game is very alive, with a large modding community. There's also a good sized YT community(of which I'm slowly joining) that will post videos on just about anything in the game.

    3. BeamNG.Drive is a soft body physics game. Cars do not handle like they do in Forza or GTAV. You can free roam, do bus routes, complete races and missions, etc.

    4. There are endless things to do. You'll find that just driving around is pretty fun.

    5. Not right now, but career mode is in the works.

    6. Optimization is good. You will need a high end system once you start spawning in more cars, but your pc should achieve 60+ fps.

    7. The community is very welcoming and helpful. Of course, there are always the assholes out there.

    8. The devs listen. They post updates on their work (new lighting was showcased a few days ago). They'll even respond to your posts occasionally.

    9. Don't know.
