No, it will have one variant which will be tuned to run on road courses and some ovals. But it can be tuned to run on short tracks

damn, okay. I guess one thing that someone needs to do is a period correct daytona with proper roadmapping and collisions.

I may consider releasing as a WIP. But that'll be awhile from now.

Awesome to see this being made. I can make skins and variants when you're ready for that! I design schemes for NASCAR IRL so I'm happy to help the virtual world

Gonna be a bit for that. Suspension work is killing me. I've gotten the vehicle to drive but the shocks are an absolute disaster. Not to mention the rest. Right now it behaves like a high powered go kart with no suspension system

just lower the spring rate in the tuning menu it's not that hard (in all seriousness I hope you figure it out, this mod is going to be amazing when it drops)

Have an announcement to make. Redoing several jbeam structures on the car (mainly the suspension area and front of the car). About 4 months ago I talked to this person who worked at a motorsports company I cant remember the name of. He recalled several wrecked stock cars coming into the shop to be repaired. He told me several things about the cars that I would've never knew. He also mentioned how the roll cages didn't tend to hold up on impacts over 140. Thanks to this information I can redo several jbeam structures to make it more realistic. I know its taking a long time, but I don't want to pre release a mod that is barely functional.

Yeah that's what made the Latemodel Stock Car that came out a couple years ago a bit unrealistic. The chassis was indestructible and incredibly stiff so it would wiggle around like jello when it took a shot.

take your time, I'd rather have a quality mod than one that was rushed like an EA game

I agree with 100% that the late model does lack realism is several areas of the car. The model of the car is great in detail, but crash physics... I live near a track where limited late models are raced every Saturday at around 7:30PM. I can recall several wrecks at around 110 mph which demolished the body and damaged several chassis components. One wreck I remember where a late model went into wall and flipped upside down from it. One side of the roof completely collapsed but the driver side stayed up.

Yeah I grew up around it too. I would go to Riverhead raceway out here and watch Steve Park before he was in the Cup series when I was a little kid. I've seen some nasty wrecks at relatively low speeds still can fold those tube chassis like a pool noodle.

I just stumbled across this thread a few days ago, and I am so excited that you are taking the time to put this all together! Don't worry about it taking a long time, it's better to release it when you feel it is time to!
