As you can see from the title... I fudged up Utah pretty bad. I am making a map and used Utah as a template and edited the files so that it hopefully did not happen (it did). I found it out after I loaded up Utah for some inspiration to find the terrain gone and replace with the terrain with my map. I have since fixed that issue and cannot get Utah back to its original form (any help would be useful). Oh how I despise myself sometimes...

It's okay. These things happen occasionally.

First, remove any and all of the files you were using to create your map from the Beamng mods folder. Then run the game in safe mode to double-check if that fixes the issue.

If not, then try these things in order, moving to the next one only if the previous one does not provide the desired results:

    Clear Cache:
Launch the game and select 'Clear Cache' from the launcher.
It will clear some of the folders in 'Documents/BeamNG.Drive' to 'Documents/BeamNG.Drive/backup'

    Verify Integrity:
Follow the directions at this address: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335&l=english

Should these both fail, and only if these both fail, move every mod, custom configuration, and any other personalized files out of the BeamNG folder and perform a complete clean reinstall:

    Clean Reinstall:

    -Unistall BeamNG from Steam
-Delete BeamNG.Drive folder from MyDocuments (backup your mods if you want, but don't put them back yet!)
-Delete BeamnG.Drive folder from Steam/Steamapp/common (If there is still a folder)
    -Reinstall BeamNG.

This might erase his work on his own map too.

Always before removing, make copy of your whole beamng documents folder, default is Documents/BeamNG.Drive, but can be different too, hence %BeamNGDocumentsFolder%

With map in progress, doing clearing like this should not erase all the work done on his own map:

Clear this to clear changes to Utah:
    %BeamNGDocumentsFolder%/levels/utah

Check also %BeamNGcachefolder%/levels/utah and clear that if needed.

    Should be fixed by those.

Then if you have modified utah.zip, you need to delete that and verify integrity, but usually that does not happen.

open one of the files in your mod (a JSON or something) in notepad++, then go ctrl+f > find in files, and select the directory of your folder. chage "utah" to whatever your map name is, then it should make it so that none of your modified files are interfering with the vanilla ones.

did that. already checked. reinstalled the game terrain replaced with Utah. redid that again. so everything is now good. but have to redo the terrain and try and figure out how to merge all the official terrain texture files and also change the materials.cs file so that I can use all the textures to paint my map. I may have to ask bob.blunderton or get some help with it on the forums. I already posted about it tonight so we will see.
