Odd engine swaps in stuff like this is common. I think the i6 provides enough power as is, but some extra options would be nice.

 

The devs tend not to have engine swaps available in the vanilla game; the only vanilla car I can think of that has a non-stock engine available in BeamNG is the Pigeon

 

The wording from the chanelog was vague, but the Gavril 6.9L in the Burnside sure seems like a swap to me, though many people aren't convinced. The 200BX was supposed to get the Gavril 4.5L (may have been the 5.5L, I'm not in the mood to go digging though old posts and timelines to confirm) but as we know it never did. I'm sure by the time career mode comes out we will get more engine swaps.

 

True, there are some exceptions like the Burnside. Especially considering a 1950s design is not all that tunable compared to a big block from the peak of the muscle car era

As for a Gavril V8-powered 200BX, I'd love to see that in-game. The 200BX has one of the best chassis of any car in BeamNG, all it really lacks is torque and power. I know there's turbos available but it's hard to beat the instant response of an NA engine

 

okay the 1967 datsun patrol had 144 horse power best in class for 67
the hopper has 167 horses 23 more horse power and the hopper is from the 90s
you would think they could in prove a little bit if i rebuilt and updated a 4.0 v6
from the patrol it would have in the 200s of horse power ibishu/devs
make just 1 powerfull vehicle pls (sorry for bump)

A 4 door Hopper wouldn't really fit IMO. None of the 4 door mods look well proportioned at all. IRL there are a couple of counterparts that did have 4 doors, but with the exception of the Toyota J40 all of them were either very niche/obscure or too modern to consider much of a counterpart. Even some of those didn't look well proportioned...


That being said, I actively want a LWB version. The Jeep TJ had LWB versions for 2004-2006 and a LWB would allow for a Scrambler inspired truck, like the Ibishu Hopper Scout mod. That would give a bit more variety for those who like off-roading and pickups and just generally be a nice addition for variety. If we are playing around with cabs and wheelbases, there's always the possibility for an airport tug like the Jeep CJ10A. Admittedly useless, but cool and could give a bit of life to the currently empty airports.

 

To be honest I would love to see a 4 door version too. But dream sometimes stay dreams. The best we’re ever gonna get are the mods.

Is that rock crawler hopper supposed to be out yet? Cause I don't see it in the vehicle selector

 

It will be released in a later update
