speaking of the DEC, I think the entire map needs expanding. redo the heightmap so the existing 1x1km is within a 2x2, maybe even a 4x4km heightmap, and add some small villages, and either a nurburgring style test track, or some high speed oval like the nardo ring or ehra-lessien.
I was browsing Steam global top sellers. BeamNG.Drive is at position 74 of 12576 products. Some people clearly are liking this game Also https://www.beamng.com/threads/development-media.24313/page-4#post-1094896 That device is looking really cool, why anyone would want mesh with that beauty? I see also that Diamondback's car is using brakes in manner I wanted mine to use brakes, but could not see how to make that happen, so looking forward of future updates and maybe that capability arrives to us
Something interesting I noticed is this: Seems like the update is pretty much done, just ready to be uploaded some time next week. If this is true, and this is the release version of the update, that means the lighting improvements will be included in 0.18 (I'm pretty sure that video has better lighting at least, unless it's just me) Also does that video mean we could possibly be getting a working dyno eventually?
If same fix could help dyno to work, maybe there would be then potential, but fix could be only something done on device. If fix was something in game's code, then that could mean that tires don't pop so easily when running over other vehicles, however that might be slightly stretching it. Haldex kind of behavior was mostly what stole my attention though, also that brake usage, system looks to be working really nicely.
I wonder if the roller prop will be coming in the update, or if its just a dev testing tool. They did say a mesh is missing...
agree id like to see a roller prop each roller (on all 4 sides) will be selectable, so you can have say 3 wheels 'on ice' and 1 not, etc also it would be cool if it had hydros to adjust the angle of accent. just ideas.
It will not be in next update, not sure if it ever was intended for released, but maybe in future if it works well enough and they get to make mesh for it as well as if there is enough interest for it.
I personally think that it would be a nice touch if the devs added in a physical 4WD, hi / lo transferase gear / buttons inside of the D15 and Hopper. As they both have 4WD capability, but there is no labeled buttons or gears inside of the cab marked as a selector for it. Edit: I also forgot to mention that there is no Odometer in the D15 and both of the Oil and Coolant gauges aren't labeled. Edit 2: There appears to be some sort of a range / 4WD gear selector in the Hopper, although it doesn't move at all and is fixed in place.
Well, we might get a new car, but I'm not so sure about that. It does seem quite unlikely in my opinion. I totally agree with that statement Hopefully, they will fix that problem in this upcoming update.
All the gauge clusters need revamping. Odometers should be functional, and the idiot lights are not very consistent. Some cars dont even have a CEL or an indicator that the high beams are on.
Recently they said they were just ironing out bugs, so it's definitely done content wise. It will probably release later this week, Tuesday at the earliest.
Are you new around here or something? The devs never tell when the update is done because that would wreck havoc across the forum. Usually we know the update is coming out when they lock the bug reporting thread
In software development, usually update is made, then it goes trough testing phase which takes more or less time, then it is released to public, unless company is Microsoft (or old Atari) which just let users do the testing for bugs (even they do try to test for most serious bugs, but they are not too troubled if some bugs are left).
Now Tdev posting "The Final Countdown" is a better indicator. They forgot to lock the 0.16 thread until a week after 0.17 was out.
We might get a Utah remaster video a couple of days before the update like we did for Italy/The map revamps/Piccobello/Bubu
