Update Speculation thread

BeamNG finally has an official plane.

I love the tunnel system in Utah, I really hope we see some more underground stuff in other maps. An underground storm drain and train tunnels would be really cool on some other maps.

I love the update. Utah is great, especially the tunnels and dirt areas. The jumps are great. The new D Series content is excellent as well.

What's the logo next to Civetta? I don't recognise it. It's not ETK.

 

Looks like one of the Autobello badges to me.

 

Was going through the updated traffic code and found something interesting.

We have American, German, and Italian maps, but we don't have a Japanese one. We could be getting a Japanese map soon.

For those of you who are thinking, "what if country just means that it only spawns vehicles from that country", American, German, Italian and Japanese vehicles spawn on Italy. It's definitely a traffic set for a Japanese map.

 

Autobello is a lot thinner, and has a gap in the top middle, I think. This badge looks more like Cadillac or Bentley, not an in-game one.

 

Also an update, I modified JRI to make the game think it was a Japanese map, and sure enough there was traffic of mainly Japanese cars with a few foreign ones. It's a fully functional Japanese traffic set alright.

 

What if the newer car is Japanese to go along with the map?

 

I don't think so.

Remember, cars don't have to be related to maps they release alongside. Remember that Utah and the Miramar were released together.

 

It's possible but I think it's meant for the Automation map since they drive on the left in New Zealand OR JRI is going to be updated to be Japanese instead of Hawaiian.

 

JRI is explicitly stated as "USA" in the files. Also, ATT is listed as "New Zealand", but it uses the American set which is used if there is no valid traffic set for the map (same for the Grid maps.)

If I'm not mistaken the plane is similar in model to that plane that Calosair design. It's a mod but it's made by the same mind that modeled the Wentward so it is the closest we'll ever get to official plane. Too bad they stopped updating the mod.

Im probably wrong, but I’m going to guess that the next car may be a Japanese roadster similar to a Miata. I vaguely remember a dev hinting at it, but I can’t find the post right now, and may have interpreted it wrong.

 

Could the map seriously be the Japan map though? Or could it just be for Japanese cars?

 

It's for a Japanese map. If the code was for Japanese cars only, then when I enabled it, I should have only seen Japanese cars.
