Not sure if this has been said already. Im too lazy to go through 17 pages . In my opinion the nights are unrealistically bright, in fact I have no problems seeing miles ahead without headlight, which kind of ruins partly the immersion. Lowering the gamma isn't a good solution either as that ruins the colors and oversaturates everything. Otherwise, loving the update and the new graphics, great work.
I have the opposite problem, night time driving is dangerous, I can't see anything about 1s or so worth infront of me. Only driven the bus in the dark. I feel like the player's eyes need to change, the entire exposure of the game needs to increase when at night, and we need dashboard lights to dim also (dash lights bright, but even on highbeam i can't see anything really). Driving in real life highbeam lights as far as my eye can really see, things up to say 5 seconds in the distance..
Night is very bright right now. In old versions (before 0.10 I believe) night was literally pitch black. Then they added moon light and even then night was a little too bright for me. Now however it's possible to drive at night without lights on and see pretty good.
Of course if you really want the right effect to take place you need to be in a completely darkened room or use a VR set. Otherwise your eyes don't know what to perceive.
trying to watch videos while the thumbnails generator is going is hella annoying it keeps overlaying itself over everything you are doing, no matter how many times you minimize it.
There is still some jank in the lighting LoD calculation, but it is not nearly as pronounced as before. Also, some of the default colors and textures are way too reflective (notably, the eSBR's black taillight and tailgate panels) and could do with some tweaking.
i should not have to compensate for the games short-comings not everyone has the space/want for dual monitors, either
In many cases the game looks much better, the Utah map looks fantastic especially mid day, the brightness is exactly how a desert would be. But at night some interiors of cars are just really really shiny, shadows dont cast all the way to the object thats emitting a shadow, this is especially noticable on cars. many props/foliage don't emit shadows at all anymore and it makes the game look very monochrome/outdated sometimes. I think this may be an attempt at soft shadows or something, but if something emits a shadow it should go all the way to the base of that object. Also the Gavril Barstow has no underside texture, along with the interior. Its all just a flat grey.(actual pieces like the dash and center console are fine) but the main chassis/undercarriage of the car has just a flat grey look. I can provide screenshots if need be of all my complaints if you like as well. Graphically in many cases this is a downgrade, but the new skybox looks much better and many of hte night effects(execpt for it being far too bright and previous interior problems i mentioned before) look much better.
I love the update, as always your work is stunning, but D series and Roamer could really use a High-performance drag radiator. Now the drag configuration overheats way too quickly. I'm not a huge fan of new default colours, especially on the Bluebuck. And the new wheels on D series look hideous, but they should look this way, this is 90's style. Also, I don't think enabling large vehicles in Traffic is a good idea. They get stuck and it compromises the experience. Suggestion: On the narrow roads you can make the AI just go one way. This way they won't get stuck and crash into each other. I know it's a lazy solution but it would make the game much more enjoyable. I haven't experienced any fps decrease, however now loading screens are vastly improved (on NVME SSD). I have a ryzen 2600 and a GTX 970 with 16 Gb of RAM. Withe 10 AI cars I get 30-50 FPS on high. Overall fantastic update as always.
Thanks, that's useful That's a wide setup I created an internal ticket to check this. It works if you use Nvidia Surround / AMD Eyefinity (makes your two monitor be detected as one) That's how the thumbnail generator works. It requires the game to be on focus to work correctly. If it's not, it will regain focus on its own. A reminder that we are not done yet with the lightning adjustments for our levels and some content. It will be a gradual thing across updates.
The front driveshaft is fragile like glass once you start messing with the 4 link and longer links. Jacking the pinion angle (caster angle) seems to help, but then it steers funny. One of the first things I did on my truck was get a long slip, high angle, thick tubed driveshaft. I'd leave the radiator to mod makers. A built drag car isn't made for ripping around a track at full throttle. They're only supposed to do a sub 10 second pass and idle (or be pushed by a cart) back to the pits. I really like the new wheels, it would be nice if the tire/wheel fitment wasn't so picky. There's no reason you couldn't mount a 33x12.50R17 on a 17x8 if it works on a 17x9. There's something super nostalgic about guys running around with those rims and some 31 inch BFGs.
And I would think it should have it because Grand Marshall has it and it uses the same engine. Besides now even stage 2 supercharger can cause car to overheat.
I've noticed that as well. On good bump off road the the front driveshaft disappears. The steering on the pickup seems a lot weaker too. It takes very little off road to knock the front end way out of alignment to where it pulls hard to the left or right. I don't recall having this problem with 0.17.
Great news for me, because what was once a long, slow, painstaking process made even more excruciating by having to go through every photo and delete the ones I didn't want (the garage ones) is now a long, slow, painstaking process that's a little faster and doesn't need to be filtered afterward.
My Beamng game installed on SSD maybe for a year and previously there were no such problems. And if I load the same mod again I have the same issue with freezing pc. My PC not slow in anyway i9-9900k 64gb Ram. Geforce 2080Super and game installed on Samsung SSD 850 evo. it is old but not very. The problem is why on 0.18 mods loaded fast and without lags and on 18.1 with lags. On 0.18 they should load for the 1st time too.
