So when I'm trying to enjoy the game by going faster, all the cars except for the slow ones are very very hard to control above 65 mph. It feels like I'm driving on ice. I can't go anywhere without crashing. This is degrading the game and it makes it very hard to play. Could you possibly add a Traction Control feature to all the cars? I want to drive in peace, very fast......

Do you drive with a keyboard?

I have used both the keyboard and Xbox 360 controler. It is easier to drive with the controler, but still impossible to go very fast in a straight line. The car always swerves to one side.

Try driving a real car at 65+ MPH while jerking the wheel around... xbox controllers don't have that much more precision than the keyboard. This game is really best played with at least a cheap wheel.

But then why would it work fine at lower speeds? I'm not even jerking the joy stick. After I start to get to that speed it goes crazy.
Shouldn't they eventually optimize the game for all input types?

Cars behave differently at different speeds... much finer control is required as speed increases..

they won't compromise the physics to tailor to a specific input type, but AFAIK they're looking into improving the way that keyboards/gamepads interact with the game.

Kinda pointless to complain about the drvivng model now when updates to the tire physics and other driving improvements are coming in a few weeks.

The devs know there are issues and they've addressed them in the upcoming pre-race updates.

If you want to complain, wait till you've judged the upcoming improvements?

From what I understand, this *floaty* problem is due to the way the tire model is designed.....since the tires are modeled with nodes and beams....is does funky things to it's grip and the way it reacts....or so I thought I've read in the past.

Gabester has said that they've gotten it much better with the updated tire physics......

So personally I'd just wait.....remember folks.....this game is stil in version .3......which is still several major updates away from an official release....patience is key at this point

My actual car reduces the torque assist provided by the power steering as speed increases.

At high speed you only require minute steering inputs, so small that to change lanes on a dual carriageway the required input would be within the dead zone of a 360 controller still.

Tyre traction has been accepted to be a bit off by the devs and is reworked in the next update. A system in which the cars steering sensitivity decreases at speed (as with most other driving games) is planned. Together these should solve the problem.

Having driven on ice, I can tell you beamNG is not quite that bad :p

They're improving car stability in the next update (1 or 2 weeks time).

Despite that, aside from a couple of known bugs, this game feels the closest to how driving in real life feels from my experience.

Sorry if it sounded like I was complaining. It just seemed like a bug andI wanted to make sure they are aware. I didn't see anything about updates to this part of the game. That's why I posted. I'm glad to hear that they are in fact going to work on this.

No worries, cars do have some funny attitudes to them, they shimmy at high speed and get thrown off static friction. The devs have done some tire tuning and physics increases which will help with a bunch of problems. It'll be out when the Pre-Race is out

A good guide to look at ios a video like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJrsR9_-e70
Thats normal driving and you can see how little wheel turning there actually is at high speed. Making huge turns of the wheel at high speed is not always neccesary.
