Beautifully made car. It has the closest feel to a Ken Block/Gymkhana style of car so far. It moves and goes where I want it to and also floats and transfers weigh like I'd expect it to. Two things I found so far is the default steering on tarmac is absent and the tires come off fairly easily. Not sure if either were intended. Overall, amazing work guys.
Hey Jalkku, Thanks for this polo. It goes really well but could you fix the headlights please (why are they black?). Anyway great job. Greets Christian
awesome car and amazing to drive, but i keep locking up the front wheels and then going off the track. anti lock brakes would make this car undefeatable
Just a question: Is the WRC really that slow? Don't want to turn it into FlameWar and already modified the Polo WRC for me, but i'd think the gears are too conservative (or set up for acceleration only?). The engine seems to have no problems pushing up to 250 Km/h with a seventh/eighth gear added set to 0.9 and 0.7. Just a thought.
@christian could you show a picture of the headlights? They are supposed to be pretty dark @ted wrc cars don't have abs I'm afraid @h1ghst0r3y there's usually no point of wrc car to go that fast since the stage doesn't usually give you the change to drive 250km/h. With shorter gear ratio it can use the power to accelerate quickly rather than having a high top speed.
I dont think the lights should be so dark (Invisible of course) in night... This is what the lights should look like (even on day) Also found two more bugs: One at the exhaust and one on the inside of the tires Would be nice if you fix this in some time, to make this a perfect mod. Btw, the rear lights working great, im kinda dissappointed that the front dont.
After driving this car for hours it feels amazing. And with everyone complaining about how it doesnt have that high of a top end i think its perfect. There is no reason for a rally car to be going any faster.
in a few videos of the rare straighter sections of rallies i've seen cars in top gear bouncing off the rev limiter. They do have the gears set up like that in real life.
There's this video on Youtube of your car but to download it on another website. Turns out someone posted it there, and I believe they claim it is theirs. Here is the link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ki4iLHoC6zQ Please make sure it is taken away from there!
@Jalkku: The headlights are not so dark in real. As you may see here, they must be lighter in my opinion: Real: http://motoren.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/vw-polo-wrc-r_5.jpg In Game:
Decided to take the car for a photoshoot. If Jalkku likes the images he is free to use them however he wants.
I've only had one weird problem with this: It might have been after loading World Editor, but whenever I started to drive straight, the front wheels would just turn without turning (kind of just rotate freely), and when I tried turning in one direction, it would barely turn, and wouldn't even turn the other way. The only mode of the car I could use was the stripped gravel.
The Grip seems to be very low, I can't flick it simply because it doesn't grip in the turn. It just slides out of every turn. But everything else is fine.
At low speeds the grip is very low i would have to agree, it under steers really heavily at really low speeds on hairpins. But once it gets moving a bit faster its really nice, for example it is a really really good drive on pikes peak but on my hills map its more difficult to do a lap in than the boxvan.
