that texture reminds me of the first versions of beamng that came out with the russian mods with those old ladas, skodas or some crap
The reason that this thread was made was to get BeamNG user's opinion on whether or not the "no texture" material looks good to them.
I don't think its intention was to look good. It is intended to clearly inform the user that a texture is missing, and it does that well. But to answer your question about whether it looks good or not, in my opinion, it doesn't, because of the ugly bright orange colour. But I understand the design choice of the colour, as it is functional - it is bright, attracting the user's eyes to it and clearly informing them that there's a missing texture
I think the flat orange color is used to make it easier to differentiate working textures from non working textures as this is sometimes the case.
Let's say you color a car in BeamNG.Drive blue. If the textures are working, it's blue. If the textures aren't working, it's orange with "no texture/no material" text on it.
This is the most pointless thread I've ever seen. Making a reply almost feels pointless. But I suppose I have a point, and that is stating that this thread is pointless.
True But what I meant is "differentiate" between working and not working textures. Let's say the body is ok but the bumpers and the wheels are not, then you can see the blue car has orange bumpers and wheels, got it ?
