I really want the new car to french. We lack euro spec cars. I also feel we need an I6, optonial biturbo japanese sports tourer

What the?! I don't remember BeamNG having Japanese police cars. There are euro police cars in BeamNG, but I don't think that they are Japanese. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong =)

 

We have the Sunburst gendarmerie. IIRC the ETK 800 Polizei was with that car's release while the ETK test center came much later.

 

Wasn't the Gendarmerie Sunburst for the Paris attacks though?
Or at least, it was around that time.

 

The gendarmerie was added in 0.4.3.1 on November 16. Which was only 3 days after the Paris attacks started. Take out a day to write the changelog and push the update, add in the time it takes to decide to make the config and the work to actually make it... That would be some really quick work on their part. Most likely just a crazy coincidence.

 

The way the new car looks, from the side it looks like an Audi A3 which could mean S3 and RS3 configs, yet the front looks like the current Ford Focus model. Tricky.

The car is not based on anything in particular.
and we have no idea what configs we're gonna get.

 

Weren't the developers mainly aiming for cars that have real life counterparts? A lot of the updates to current cars in the game were recently updated to better match their real life counterparts.
So far only the SBR4 doesn't have anything that looks like it IRL from what I recall

 

The SBR4 is a mess, honestly. But it's still cool in the way that a 17 meter high statue made of trash looks cool.

 

BUT for the sake of the speculation thread, what could it be if it isn’t based on anything. I think it supporting multiple power trains could be interesting, as lots of manufacturers are doing it now. Such as a petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric option

 

The developers want cars to match general categories, not specific vehicles. They aren't Rockstar. The goal is to create vehicles that could have realistically been manufactured at the time.

The SBR4 is a great-looking vehicle, in my opinion. I do accept that I am wrong, however.

 

I also really like the SBR4, but everyone here has their own preferences when playing the game so whatev.

So at least speculation wise, the new car might actually not be based off anything real, but there's definitely influence from different cars on it

 

SBR4 is bursting at the seams with potential. I think it's really attractive as it is now, but more aggressive styling (new grill/taillights/headlights) would make it much more so.

 

+1 what Quantum0 said, there's probably gonna be small turbo diesel engines in the event that this car is european.
