Nice! Looking forward to it, I'd also like a rally version but on its own it's perfect!

I'm very excited for this mod and have been for a while now, was hoping it'd be released before 2020 but obviously not!
Sounds like there's a fair bit left to do on it, I originally thought you was just releasing one body style and adding the others in the future, not a whole MK2 Focus pack!

In the UK, these mk2 Focus hatchbacks and estates are getting rather popular for Banger Racing, no where near the same as the MK1's which literally dominate the Rookie Banger formula along with Honda Civics and Vauxhall Astras. But they're a solid choice and I've seen plenty raced.

Here's a pic of #429 Joseph Staverly's one from the Barford Raceway "Xmas Blitz" event that was held a few weeks ago, maybe you could add a few banger parts to make this a solid choice? It's probably quite simple for you to add a few parts as Peter Beamo has already made a steam tank and cage model from his "Derby & Banger Mod" which I've been given permission to do what I want with it as it's a broken mod and he doesn't play the game anymore really. But it'd be useful for the 3D part models.
(He's said to me anyone is welcome to mess with the mod to repair it or use it for other stuff, just credit him, can show proof if I have to!)

To turn this mod into a banger, all you need to do is make a configuration that removes all windows, passenger and rear seats, bumpers, lights, Mirrors, dashboard (if possible) and interior plastics such as door cards and parcel shelf.
Panels welded so they don't come off/open would be another nice feature to add for this. In the UK we use Seatbelt to keep the doors and boot shut and for the bonnet most use big washers and spinners with rebar that goes down to the chassis legs or inner wing. Then another washer and spinner at the bottom. When tightened this crushes the bonnet down a little bit, however I prefer to use seatbelt as it's easier.

However it'd be great if you could take this a step further and add the H Frame roll cage Peter Beamo made and if possible, the Steam tank too
(not sure if it would fit in the engine bay at the back though!)

I've attached photos of one of the bangers I'm building currently, a Ford Sierra. To show where the cage should go if that helps (it goes behind the drivers seat as close to the B Pillar as possible)
My H Frame in the Sierra is a bit different as it's meant for biggers cars, hence why it's a bit OTT with the box section lol

That actually looks like a good idea!
And yes, I initially planned to release the 3door variant first and then other models, which maybe still is going to happen, but I really underestimated the JBeam and interior work. Also, after looking at the mesh in detail in blender, it still needs A LOT of work to clean it up, so that it crashes better (less spikeyness).

Handling is going in the right direction. Should feel a bit like the sunburst, as it is based on that JBeam. I'd like to change the suspension, so that it behaves as the real Focus, but that is also very complicated and something for later.

Also struggling with the steering wheel , as it just won't turn as it should.

I saw a Ford Focus RS Rally which gave me the idea. The closest to the RS is the WRC so I would like to have that in this mod.

Yeah, I suppose he would... He’s got two children and a life anyway, so I wasn’t expecting any update soon.

It’s just that the last update was on the 21st of December, and I was wandering if there was just a little bit of progress since then :)

Just a little tip for the future: don't ask for updates, people will post updates if there's any.

Sorry, I haven't had much time (or motivation) to do anything the last couple of weeks.

I've moved to a new (bigger) house which also needs some work. So when I'm not at work, or doing odd jobs in and around my house, and with the kids asleep, I usually just feel like crashing in the couch to watch TV or playing some games on the PC for relaxation :)

You don’t need to apologise, after all its only a mod for a game :)
I hope you settle into your new house nicely as well! :)

    Hello!

Found this thread looking for a good Focus model and after reading through all 29 pages i'm utterly impressed! :D For a first time model this is really shaping up to be an absolutely amazing mod! I hope that you and your family are doing well in your new house too :)

Keep up the awesome work, you've got some real talent here!

Looked at the original post just now, and i did not see a 2.0 Diesel in the engine section, but it was available in the MK2 Focus.
Are you gonna add that engine?
