So long as there's a hopped up sports trim with big wheels and stiff suspension, then the new hatchback should be fantastic. I'd imagine they'll add some sort of racing modifications to it as well, and maybe we'll get a modern touring car looking config? If not, I'll make one, you can count on that. And skins of course, need lots of those...
There definitely are people actively against pre-war cars. Vehicle content certainly does need a lower year limit; I think most of us can agree that pre-1900 cars are not fair game and a lot of us can agree that pre-1920 cars would be a tough sell, but pre-war is where the debate clearly gets heated. It wasn't just a "old vs new" debate, it's if a car older than the Burnside ever will have a place in the vehicle roster. It's come up once in awhile, past reasons people don't want one include "we already have all we ever will need for classic American cars", "I don't like that style of racing and customization/don't acknowledge the existence of hot rod culture", and "it wouldn't fit on the Italy map". This time in particular it was debating if enough people care about pre-war cars to justify ever getting one. As for the political thing, that was randomly tacked on later. The D-Series unibody-on-frame gives me hope that we will see bodystyles for cars other than body-on-frame cars with identical silhouettes. Hopefully these body-styles along with the extreme modifications on the crawler hopper are both precedents for future vehicle content.
I kind of wonder if there is going to be an option to include a lot of black plastic cladding on the fenders and rocker panels of the new vehicle:
considering it's most likely getting AWD, I wonder if a crossover variant would have a different AWD setup to the also-presumed-to-exist "RS" version, like how audi's allroad and S/RS model have different AWD setups.
Considering that the reworked AWD system should allow for some measure of customization, I think it's definitely possible to see different AWD setups. A lifted car with more torque and crap black plastic cladding would be a really cool counter to a potentially race-intercooler, lowered ride height, stiffened suspension, and launch control packed RS trim variant. I feel it's going to be another wagon for some reason, despite everyone saying it'll be a hatch. Time will tell.
I must ask, of the people who said they are "against" a prewar car, is this because you actually actively don't want one -ever-, or just that you want another type of vehicle perhaps before that?
I have said already; I personally would certainly enjoy a prewar car, but there are other gaps in the vehicle roster that I think should be prioritized.
I think the general position is this. Its not that we dont want it, but that we see other cars as priorities right now. The game needs a midsize modern SUV and a Minivan far more than it needs a prewar car. --- Post updated --- Democracy. I love democracy.
Multiple votes from the same person are possible, like, with Incognito Mode... I honestly don't know why a poll was even necessary. Developers will include new content to the game as they see fit, when it goes along with their plans, targets and design principles. Next vehicle could be a keysounded electronic drum set for all we know...
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that there's people on this forum who don't want a big-tire, flathead V8-powered, triple single barrel carbureted, fenderless, pre-war coupe... It's unarguably the quintessential hot rod, has been since the beginning of time. No other car would even come close to it as far as customization goes, from fenders to no fenders, chopped tops, as well as options for flathead 4, flathead v8, and a later OHV V8 (likely from another company). Not to mention the numerous carburetor set ups and forced induction options. Maybe we need not have it as one of the next couple cars, but I feel that at some point it's essential that it would be added.
Yes, that is a good idea. Maybe you should post that in the vehicle suggestion thread which developers commonly view instead of a thread dedicated to speculating updates. We don't need prewar car arguments on this thread unless we actually find some kind of evidence. This argument is the same as it always is, and it happens every few months, so lets just not.
That being said, I agree. Come on people, this is not a thread where you argue about what vehicles should (but won't) be added next. If there's no new information from the devs to speculate about, just don't post here.
Back on speculating about the new car Did anyone else came across the new 4 cylinder sounds? i also found some new backfire sounds when i was looking around in the sound banks the fmod events are already in game: sorry if this was already discussed, i was away for a while
