Since when were brakes important? But if you really want brakes and the brakes don't fit in the wheels, maybe we'll get in-board brakes? Or really big spacers...
More of it was planned then cancelled. It seems like it was intended to go in game but I remember seeing, though can't find now, a comment around 2016 that it was forgotten about it.
It's more the lack of evidence that proves the Fulmine (as well as every other vehicle on the concept list save for the Hopper) is nothing more than a napkin-doodle office-whiteboard brainstorm. It was only mentioned once six years ago, and otherwise only appeared on the concept list was removed shortly after being published, never mentioned since, and only had one car see creation (again, the Hopper is the exception that proves the rule). Besides, the legitimacy of the list itself is still disputed. Some of the cars on the list were mentioned by the devs, like the Fulmine and Beaufort, but it's likely that most were added by random people.
I wouldn't say that the infamous Concept List cars were completely cancelled, or at least the more fleshed out ones; the 'Fulmine' and the 'Beaufort' aren't - they've just been put on hold until the opportunity arises to add them to the game. They might not have the same name at that point, the Fulmine might not end up being a Civetta, but the general idea of the car will find it's way in game sometime in the future. Or the names might be reused for a car that isn't even related to what they originally had in mind. And this 'Hopper is the exception' junk needs to stop. As of yet there is no 'rule' to be proven. When updates stop, and we've had no more 'Concept List' cars added to the game, then you can say it all you like. But right now you can't be so certain.
When I say that the Hopper is the exception that proves the rule, I mean that if the concept list really does list vehicles that are planned to be added, more of them than just the Hopper would have been added by now as opposed to unannounced vehicles like the Piccolina, eSBR, and this new car.
Running find(new.Topic)... Do we think anything new will be added to Gridmap in the next few updates, and if so, what will it be? If I recall, the last changes were the bus stops and the new surfaces.
it's sort of due for an update again, but i'm not sure what would be added. the last couple of updates were adding the bus stops/prepped strip and one new ramp, then the most recent update significantly changed the friction of the ice groundmodel (which was an update to all maps, not just the gridmap), along with minor updates along the way which very slightly changed behavior of other groundmodels. i think updating the offroad area to be a bit more challenging would be great, considering most vehicles don't have a problem with it, aside from the rocks. you can easily take a bone stock awd etk800 with A/T tires through all the mud there, if you don't suck up too much water. and with the hopper crawler, i was almost sure we would be getting an expanded rock crawling section on the gridmap, but no. i honestly can't think of much else besides that, and maybe some more suspension testing areas for mod-makers (everything we have so far is raised, we don't have any pothole-type obstacles yet).
i think there's a possibility they might add some stuff for the scripted events (like the WCA drag strip)
Speaking of the WCUSA drag strip, I would love to see a drag race event placed on the Italy airport and any long enough straights on other maps (Utah Highway maybe) As for grid map, by vehicle game sandbox standards it's nearly empty. I would love for it to be updated with some random stuff.
It's been awhile since we've gotten a hillclimb/time attack car, those are my favorite to drive... Being that a bunch of cars got drift configs and rally parts last update, I think there's a chance we might see more cars get hillclimb/time attack configs soon. There's a fair number of cars that need them. Still not sure why the '96 Pessima got unused aero parts when there's more appropriate cars without them. *Hillclimb Wentward or riot*
