Why isn't the Track Builder getting the traction it deserves?

I started messing around with the Track Builder and I am really impressed by the potential it has. If they keep working on it and can get way more powerful then something like Trackmania.

Still it seems like there is nobody really interested in it. Why is that?

Yesterday I posted the first concept of a series of tracks I am working on in the Track Builder section of this forum and sadly got no responses so far.

Thing is, you have to understand the history of BeamNG. A lot of people were expecting Italy and a car, but instead we got the track editor.
So automatically people on the whole have a bad experience with it, since that. It delayed the content they were waiting for.

Not only that, but the track builder was initially released without its accompanying mod section, or much in the way of a guide on how to use it. A lot of users were frustrated by the way the tool worked (it is sometimes very counter-intuitive), and even more frustrated that there was no way to share tracks.

@G-Farce Okay now it makes more sense. I am still super new to the game and was super impressed on how easy it is to use and how much you can already do with it.

@YellowRusty I can only speak for the track builder in its current form and it seemed to become a pretty easy to use powerful tool to prototype track ideas in a short amount of time. But I agree that they need a easy way to share tracks and most importantly add some type of leaderboards so people can compete for good times.

Maybe it isn't as popular for now since it only supports time-trail modes. Like you said it has great potential, but not being able make race scenarios or quickly save the generated track-pieces in a map is a bummer.

I posted these shots a while back. The builder is really cool in standard maps to quickly generate smooth ramps or simple barriers on flat surfaces. I didn't manage to save them into the map though.
