Autonomous Vehicle Testing

I've noticed within the BeamNG.research page that it is possible to extract vehicle sensor and image data and send back to the vehicle control input.



1) Is this still possible to do?
2) Can the data be processed via a separate program asynchronously and have the desired control input sent back?
3) If yes to either, what would I have to do to access this feature?
