I know I said that community events would be on hold until the beamng website fixed their group issues, but they seem entirely uninterested in doing so for literally no reason. So screw the rules let's do another community event anyways! This time we will head to the brand newish Hawaii HMTN track by jedipresence! Let's not waste any time and get right into it! important notices will be in bold to help you see them, as there is a lot of text to look through. Here's a tl;dr version of the rules, as I've just now noticed how absurd this first post has gotten... Community event 5 Rules 1. Must use public truck 2. Track is Hawaii HMTN; use appropriate track variant for the event (track MUST remain stock) 3. ~30fps minimum; no minimum quality. Just minimum fps. 4. Must stay within racing lines; only one tire can go over the inside line. 5. 2 laps around = racing 7. Blz engine, supercharger, giant and small tires are banned. 8. You can tune the truck however you like minus the use of the above blz parts. 9. Orbit cam is preferred, but if you get a cool replay and have all the events in one go as per the rules, I’ll still accept it. 10. 2 second rollover timer; run is over if you’re on your roof for more than 2 secs to keep hacksaves from happening 12. I’d prefer you upload directly to the beam thread, but you are free to use dropbox, google drive, mediafire, etc to upload your runs. You can also upload to YouTube and I can still download them from there, but the quality will not be as good. DO NOT POST A BEAMNG REPLAY FILE! 13. Due date by February 29; more than enough time. 14. You must say which truck you’re going to be driving before or during your submission. If someone already chose the truck you want, you must choose a different one. All trucks are fair game as long as they do not use the game breaking 18000hp blz motor. trucks can be used from any of the truck packs found on the 'All skin and map download links!' sticky thread, along with any personal tunes you've done to the trucks. You can use any tires as well as long as they are the standard 66inches! BEFORE YOU UPLOAD: Please make sure that your computer is capable of running beamng at a framerate of a stable 30fps or higher. resolution and quality settings dont matter as much, but a smoother framerate will really help the viewing experience as well as helping determine who gets the fastest time trials run. In the last event I allowed you to remove one car stack to improve performance, but that is not allowed this time! please use the stock version of the tracks! ALSO BEFORE YOU UPLOAD: NO CUSTOM OR UNBREAKABLE BODIES! this is to make sure everyone's on a level playing field and so that the forums or the video dont just get bombarded with "omg where do i get that pls give now". because you know that'll happen. CLIP SUBMISSION / EVENT ENTRY DUE DATE: February 29; in about a month. please announce which truck you would like to compete with either before or on your [first] submission post. if someone has already chosen the truck you would like to use, you must choose another one. first come first serve! there's plenty of trucks to choose from! I will be using the Voodoo Envy machine for all of my runs. it is found in the official addon pack. Please read the rules below before asking questions about making a video or about the event. general advice: if you hit Alt+U in beam, you can hide your UI, which makes for a much cleaner video. also do not forget to mute/close apps like spotify or discord to keep their sounds from entering the video. hit Alt+U again to let your UI reappear when youre done recording. WHEN UPLOADING YOUR SUBMISSIONS: Please make sure to properly name your submission files, as it's a super big help to me when editing. it's not a requirement in order for your submission to be accepted, but it really does make a world of difference when editing the video. here's an example of how to properly name your file (replace 'gameboy3800' with the name you'd like to be credited as): gameboy3800_Voodoo_Envy_Community_Event5_Racing.mp4 Racing: if you want to use a cinematic camera to give your run that realistic showcase style, that is fine. but you are free to use whatever camera mode you like. you do not need to have a timer on screen, as i am capable of adding one myself. you can use whatever lane you like; they should both be equal. use whichever lane you think you're fastest in! just make sure you are within the racing lines to be fair to everyone! no obvious corner cutting! limit of one tire over the racing lines before a time penalty will be given! and the old standard rule of getting both front tires on the jump or else a time penalty will be given always applies. →SUPER IMPORTANT TIME TRIALS NOTE: THE EVENT CALLS FOR TWO LAPS TO BE COMPLETED. IF YOU ONLY DO ONE LAP, YOUR RUN WILL NOT BE COUNTED.← Two Wheel skills: you've got 3 chances to the best stunts and combos on 2 wheels or less. no real restrictions; just stay within track boundaries and have fun! although more realism is better! freestyle: free range; stay within track boundaries and do cool stuff for the full 2 minutes! remember the WOW factor too! I can add a timer on screen in video editing; you do not need to have one yourself if you dont want. IMPORTANT RULE: if you roll over and are on your roof for more than TWO seconds, your runs done. this should eliminate the 'hack saves' that some users (myself included) were guilty of. More realistic runs are likely to be scored higher! Like my previous event, I would prefer if you uploaded the video files directly onto the website, as the quality of the footage of a direct download would be way higher than if i rip it off youtube. you can upload files as big as 480ish megabytes, which should be big enough for even a full freestyle run. Mediafire, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc are also acceptable. you can still upload to youtube if you prefer. i can still rip the footage. my only other request for your uploads is that you keep it just normal truck sounds only. no copyrighted music pls! also, if you could remove the ui (Alt+U) to let the footage look cleaner that would be a big help. it is not required though. let's just have some fun with this one. i dont want to see any "this users run is invalid" or "i think i should've won". that's not the spirit. we can all get along and have a relaxing day playing some monster jam. in the end, you may even learn a thing or two by watching some other users run, and be able to give helpful tips to others to let them better their own skills! here's a tip from me: if you hit 'Q' on your keyboard, you should be able to use the realistic/manual shifting mode, which allows you to to shift way faster and pull off some incredible stunts and saves! This event will Live Streamed on my channel on March 6 2020, where you guys can leave scores for other runs as they come up! dont miss it!
