    hello all,
    can someone please give me a list of the tools of choice the modders use to make their cars, i'd like to have a try at modding a car for this game............ive been involved in modding for 2005 so im not new to it.

    cheers

    I believe most modders start their mods with the “Blender” program

    What you need is:

    • Blender/Maya/3DSMax
    • GIMP/Krita/Photoshop/Paint.net
    • Notepad++ & BNGeditor
    • Coding knowledge in jbeam
    That is pretty much required (maybe except the jbeam knowledge if you can find someone else to do it for you) to make a vehicle for BeamNG. If you want to just create UI apps, then you need to know LUA (I think)

    Nah man don't think so, ripping the model and kinda doing the rest yourself may work tho.

    Welcome to the forums, Angus94 :) (nice name and avatar btw)
    You're going to have to make yourself confident with how the slots works in the file structure and that is NOT an easy task !
    Take it one step at the time, look at vanilla cars and also find a simple prop like a crate or a bollard to see how the simplest things
    are spawned in the game. And most important : try to study the wiki, even if it says 'this is deprecated and will be updated' it's still
    the best we have for now ! :)

    Don't use mods to learn from, you're better of deconstructing official vehicles :)
