I wanted to try to create a lexus gs400 to just cruise around in. I need some help though. First of all, I don't even have a clue on where to go to start putting it together, for example, a website or program to put cars together. I have also looked on the forums for similar topics, but I can't find exactly what I am looking for. Secondly, I need to figure out all the different kinds of nodes and things of those sorts. If any one would be nice enough to give me some guidance, that would be greatly appreciated.
I know it is in a different section than normal, but I figured that there could be more people who would notice this and possibly reply. I understand that it was an easy misconception.
You have to model the visual mesh, and create the physical skeleton, which is what those funky jbeam files are. There's a wealth of content creation information in the wiki.
Tbh, if you've never modelled anything before, I'd recommend practicing a lot. Not as easy as it seems.
Before trying to build your Lexus, I strongly recommend getting better acquainted with content creation in BeamNG. Building a mod without any experience can be pretty overwhelming. Start by skimming through the wiki. It will give you a lot of useful info on how mods work. Next, I advise modifying some existing content to get a feel for content creation. Try adding on a new part to an existing vehicle. That will give you a better idea of how to make individual parts. Once you feel comfortable with the simple stuff, you could try thrusting yourself into content creation. You will run into a lot of problems when making your first mod. A lot. Seriously. This community has some really awesome people though. If you get stuck on something, post your question in the forums or ask someone through PM. Good luck. Modding is hard, but if you succeed, it can be really rewarding.
