4, 2 programmers and 2 artists. 3 or 4, same difference though. Hardly a gargantuan team. - - - Updated - - - Not only that but they re-used rockstar advanced game engine from GTA4 which in turn supposedly uses the bullet physics engine (which is open source btw if you ever want to use it yourself). The only physics code they had to do apparently was some work with ragdoll and skeletal animation for NPC's, BeamNG may use the torque engine but all of the physics code they have had to write themselves. No mean feat for 2 guys (considering 2 of the 4 are programmers and 2 are artists so likely dont touch the code).

It's a sacrifice they had to make, after that we will have regular updates. Re-writing the whole game takes time.
