This is incredible! It would be insane to have a fully fledged quality school bus in this game, it might just pull me back in. Can I make you some engine/transmissions? Not models or Jbeam but I can model power and sound and tuning and such
Currently I have the MBE900 and the CAT C7, which seem to be the only 2 engines offered from 2004 onwards. They're both fairly accurately tuned. The transmission is an Allison 2000, though I suppose there's room for expansion there. As for a more powerful derbying engine or something, I don't know what I'll do for that yet.
Air horns + external PA speaker. Don't know if I can get the air horns working but I'll look into it What other kinds of accessories would you guys like to see?
I would be happy to specially tune the transmission for you. I did the Gavril Engines and Sound Mod if you need my portfolio I geek out over this kind of thing so I'd love to make the transmissions behave as accurately as possible.
Added a new thing in the parts selector : "Warning Light Mode" This lets you change between automatic (they shut off when you shut the door) ,or manual (you have to shut them off yourself) Here's a demonstration of automatic Gfycat Video - Click to Play - Direct Link I've also started on some switches and switch animations Gfycat Video - Click to Play - Direct Link
I love the amount of progress that's being done on this mod I really can't wait until it's finally ready!
1. 2. and 3. + color map and put in game One more texture ready to go. Still a few more textures to make.
Two quick questions: 1. Are you will create a "City Bus" Skin? 2. Is there gonna be a shortened body? But of course, when this mod released this bus will gonna appeared in the Featured Mods (If you did rebrand the bus so its repo friendly)
I'm not him, but this is a school bus. They don't use these in the city, unless its a church bus thats painted blue or green, or something.
Without a skin you can choose any color you want, and you can also choose to remove the stop signs, lights, etc. in the parts selector. So it's totally possible to get something like this There may be eventually. I'm hesitant about having any body variants until at least a bit of time after release has passed. That way if people find issues / inaccuracies I only have to fix them once and not multiple times
Today : - Added fuse box door - Added what I can only describe as a "stability bar" to the hood (it's there IRL) - Tweaked the extension / retraction of the crossing arm a bit. the top was moving faster than the bottom. - Fixed an instability with stop signs so they no longer pop off - Adjusted left side mirror jbeams to properly fit the mesh - Revisited the steering and gave it 7-8 more degrees of steering each way (used to only have 32-33 deg), this involved fixing the geometry of the steering since it was pretty ugly previously - Re-did mudflap attachments, adjusted mudflap nodes so they no longer constantly collide with the body - Started working on wiper jbeams. I plan to have working wipers since they need physics anyways because they need to be able to be pushed away by the windshield Just goes to show that when something looks done, there's still tons of stuff that's being modified all the time.
Added some more mesh detail, and a normal map for the places with less depth. Also gave the hood it's own material. Next thing that needs normal maps + individual materials is the bumpers.
