If the devs are actually gonna add a rally version of the Bolide, then there's multiple things they can draw inspiration from.
They've already made a start with one of the liveries, the Alitalia-esque scheme seen on the Lancia Stratos rally car, but the real-life interpretation had a V6. But with the selection of V8-s on vanilla, one might also see a pull towards the Ferrari 308 GTB Group 4 rally car.
Ultimately, we're still gonna have to wait and see what really happens...

I strangely like the look of that car, It looks like it's looking up at the sky begging for death, just like me :D

OT: They should give it rally lights and fatter rally tyres (Are you pleased now Spicy? :p) and a glass engine cover part so your not stuck with the black grate thing (can't remember what it is called) and mabye a race interior and carbon fiber door panels.

When it looks like this im satisfied
So yea: classic rally lights, rollcage, a Lip spoiler instead of a Gt wing, skidplate.
That will make the bolide a group B ish racer.

Yeah I know the Stratos is my favourite car (you can't forget the mudflaps) and would love the bolide to look like it. The Bolide definitely needs some sort of front splitter or chin to maintain stability at high speed as it sort of 'drifts' around slowly forcing you to let off the throttle to cancel it out, it gets annoying after a while and it looks cool. The Bolide also needs more liveries thats another thing I just thought of.

    It just needs... Everything.

Just try to make a custom config for it. How many options are there? Go ahead.

I'd love to see a special edition with a flat 12, since this is the only car we'll ever have that it'll make sense in. And some DeTomaso inspiration, since I love the aggressive looks of the later Pantera models. Gavril small block swap for giggles?

so, a high quality light weight flat plane v8 swapped for a heavy lump of metal that sounds like a clogged toilet?

What about giving the bolide turbos and/or a supercharger? just imagine the wine of a super charger mixed with the stuttering of a turbo but only make it avaliable on the race tuned engine as twincharged (I think that is the term) engines are quite rare.

    Yup.

    IMO the Pantera sounds great...

I'm taking variety and references to real cars both as assumed values here. I keep saying we need an engine swap system, but since that's no where in sight it seems specific engine swaps will have to be justified for the forseeable future. A Gavril small block would be a good way to build a powerful budget build in career mode (I doubt the Civetta V8 would be as cheap and easy to modify as the Gavril small block) and a great reference to the Pantera, since the whole Ford powered Italian super car thing is an interesting story.

As for the flat 12... I don't see much need to justify it. It's a flat 12.

I was thinking at most a single special edition, at least an aftermarket swap. Plus some more aggressive styling. Personally I love the Pantera's styling in particular, but the Bolide is just understated as can be for what it is compared to everything in class. That's fine for some trim levels, but I don't think every factory trim level should be as understated as it is now.

i don't think the bolide will use a flat 12. the flat 12 is such a rare engine type, and was never really used more than a couple times in road cars. for civetta to use one would make sense if it was a ferrari clone, but copying ferrari's exact history onto civetta's is not a good idea considering the beam universe is supposed to be standalone from reality.

to add the engine to diversify the game would be nice, and logical, but i'd lean towards a modern hirochi than a vintage supercar. something like hirochi developing boxer engines for years, using them on very few cars but notably all generations of sbr4. when the current-gen sbr4 came to fruition, hirochi started development on a super-secret engine for a high-class racing series. the boxer-12 was born, and unveiled in their flagship race car, without making the same mistakes of certain real-life companies. to everyone's surprise, a year later (after proving the success of the engine in racing) they decided to modify and release a detuned version of the engine in a slightly modified sbr4 body for a highly limited production period.

idk what that was, i basically just typed and typed without thinking, just letting the words flow. simply an idea, not really speculation as i wouldn't imagine it actually happening.

Personally I just want to see as many engine types as possible, and this is the only reasonable way I can think of to get a flat 12. I wouldn't consider the engine choice as making the Bolide a Ferrari clone any more than the SBR is a Porsche clone with it's F4.

The only uses of a flat 12 I know of is military, F1 & Prototype racing, and 1973-1996 Ferrari's similar to the Bolide. It's safe to say we won't see a Churchill tank or a prototype/F1 race car, which leaves 1973-1996 Italian wedge shapped high end sports cars. And I doubt we will see a second one, which leaves the Bolide as our only hope for one in my eyes.

It's not the most important engine, but it is an interesting one.

Yeah the current bolide lights need a new part, they need two circle lights in the pop up to avoid looking like an 86 and more like an actual 70s supercar like the 512BB

No need to be passive aggresive about it but he does have a point the lights on the Bolide don't really fit it, there just too square for me.

Nevermind what the bolide says it's from (fictitious crap), the car it's based on is definitely using an older bodystyle from mid-late 70s maybe even earlier if you care for the details at all.
