When will career mode Come out?

Im really curious when career mode will come out. but i have seen no threads about it for so long, So could you tell us when you think career mode will be ready to come out?

 

I wouldn't anticipate any releases, or work on (by which I mean attempts to design and assemble races and other game mechanics for career mode itself) for 2020.

Preparations for Career Mode do continue though - improving the base game, bringing older content up to new standards, streamlining the way scenarios operate, making changes to the UI, building new tools for working with the game, etcetera. Once we see the Soliad Wendover in-game, and all of the cars, maps, and props have gotten a refresh, then maybe we can start to speculate about the release of career mode. But not today.

I'm hoping it will come out this year, but I'm aware it will come out when it's ready.

 

I don't think even the devs have an approximate answer, since career mode has been WIP since 2016 now and earlier planned dates mentioned by them have passed already. But yeah, I suppose they are mostly busy with the stuff mentioned by YellowRusty. Also, it's kinda hard to create a career mode while the base mechanics of the game are still being worked on. You can already see that scenarios that ware made years ago have become glitched or very hard to complete due to changes in transmission/AI behavior. Considering this it would be a massive PITA for the devs to continually refurbish the career mode after every change to the game mechanics.

Regardless, maybe less related to this post, but I would love to see a similar blog to the one in 2016 (https://blog.beamng.com/something-is-still-on-the-horizon/). A reflection on the past, present and mostly a focus on the future of this game would be very welcome.

As of now, I have no idea where this game's journey is headed, which is both exciting and frustrating. The devs can continue to follow the "develop the physics engine, add new content, refurbish old content, repeat" pattern for years to come. Again, I would like to see some sort of roadmap or a bit more of a concrete future vision by the devs, even though that can be hard for a game like this.

Consider this constructive feedback, not criticism. I love this game and I only want to see it flourish

 

I wouldn't expect it anytime soon. As said by YellowRusty, the devs are probably more focused on the core game (new vehicles, improvements to physics/lighting, bug fixes, etc).

Hopefully the devs will give us some updates on career mode's progress in the future. If I had to guess, I'd say it might come out in the next 2-3 years, maybe even longer.
