I'm sure that people have asked this of you guys before, but I'd love to try the CryEngine build of BeamNG. If you guys still have it, of course. I am asking for a 7 year old build of the game, after all. I didn't know where to put this, so I just put it here.
Yes. I am very sure. I don't understand why a development team would keep such an old version of the game anyways. It was never made public as it was to see what the game engine could do.
Then why keep 0.4? that's only around a year newer. they kept that one, so why wouldn't they keep the cryengine builds?
0.4 is the last version compatible with DirectX 9, so it’s kept around. Same goes for 0.14, the last version compatible with DirectX 10, and 0.16, the last version compatible with integrated GPUs.
I wish.. Correct me if im wrong but i think the devs would need to buy a licence fee to release a version of cryengine with beamng in it. and the version of cryengine beamng was made in is way older then what cryengine has on steam as a monthly fee right now.. But as tdev said. its not going to happen.
I dont see why release an indev never made to be played demo, but i highly doubt anyone half-professional at making games or software will not keep constant legacy versions just in case. I almost lost an entire java project of 1 night in the 30 seconds it took me to delete the old versions and forget to re-save the current one before closing. Thank god netbeans keeps a history record.
compatible with doesn't strictly means that it can, compatible means that its made to work with them. What they mean is that after 0.16 they dont care if an integrated GPU starts having issues.
That's not strictly the case. The problem appears to lie in an issue with a certain Intel driver causing BeamNG to crash. It's not something the devs can fix themselves, and until Intel fixes it they've provided 0.16 as a workaround.
