Hi After this update my laptop seems to be struggling a lot more to run BeamNG than it did prior to the update. Don’t get me wrong I’m loving it. However. I’ll have frequent frame drops to as low as 7fps and the highest frame drop I’ve experienced is 11fps. My laptop used to run the game at 50-70fps. But. After the update these frame drops have become an issue. Whether I am playing on Italy or Gridmap. I’ll experience the same frames in the drop and seems to be happening within 5 minute intervals. Could this be an optimisation night with the new update in either the new car or the improved lighting? And will there be a hotfix at all? Thank you
since no one really anwered I ask again: How can I use the custom Thumbnails for my car variants? Is there anything I need to do? like putting them somewhere
This new "brake activated clutch" feature is really irritating. It make downshifting while braking without ABS really difficult as the car just goes to idle immediately. Also (this happened quite a few times now) the brake just gets stuck and the car won't move. Here is a video of the issue:
Hello, i seem to have some problems with ESC and TC with the FCV platform. From time to time certain wheels get maximum braking power for no reason (or so i think), and it only stops braking said wheels once the ESC and TC have been deactivated via the driving modes or the car has come to a complete stop. I have attached a video with the issue. The issue starts around 3:20 and it also seems to deactivate the Clutchex wheel braking, it can be seen around 6:20. The AWD system starts braking the slipping wheels only after reloading the car with CTRL+R. The Tograc is the 160Q without swaybars and with rally tires, but i believe it happens to all the AWD models with Clutchex. This issue might be related to a mod, but i do not know for sure. Also, i believe this is a feature and not a bug, but the turbo only makes 0.7 bars in first gear and 1.2 in the rest. Sorry for not trying it in Safe mode, i'll update later if it happens in safe mode too. It happens in safe mode as well.
Am I the only one that enjoys driving Vivace 230s more than any other fwd version? Ona curvy road it feels perfect, the power is good, the brakes are fantastic and the chassis seems to be made for this small 1.6 engine. It feels really agile. The S270 or S310 is way faster and more capable, but god, the 230s drives well. Can I hope for a manual in this version in the future? It seems weird that the least powerful sporty-ish version only comes with DCT where even 5 cylinder monsters come stock with a manual. Overall fantastic car and fantastic update, as always.
Yes, you need to use the name of the config for the thumbnail, and put it in the same folder with the config.
On more question to ask, why is it that with the new FCV cars that even when Driving modes and ESC switched off it still isn't off? More notable if taking the all wheel drive Tograc on the tilt ramp, switching off the ESC makes no difference. Also I can see it heating up the brakes if I attempt to drift it. Also - No traction control etc in reverse
Hello, the ESC is off and so is the TC but the AWD system is the one that is braking the wheels to insure maximum traction while accelerating. It uses the brakes to "lock" the open differentials by simply braking the wheel that is slipping, directing the power to the wheel that has more grip. This system cannot be turned off, it can only be removed from the parts selector but that deactivates AWD, because it is the one that controls the clutch that provides power to the rear wheels, i believe.
I love it that the blue lights now have real lights. I noticed that the flasher in the grille don't have those. Is it planned in the future to add them also? It would be cool, because I made an Undercover Vivace myself. sothat would be cool. I hope you know what I mean. If not ask The little blue flasher in the grille
That makes complete sense but the same happens on just FWD configurations too as I just tested. Just going by how it's worded - ESC and TC off would suggest the traction control is off too but it isn't. The FWD still has an 'e-diff' effect with the TC off. Presumably that's intended. ETA - This destroys the clutch on the Arsenic model if you attempt drifts etc
The eDiffs are not technically part of the traction control, which instead is about maximizing grip during acceleration.
I love the update but I would like to report an issue with the Vivace + Tograc traction control. After some weird driving scenario the traction contol will try to bring the car to a complete stop and will continue doing so until you fully stop the car and then take back off. I know this has been mentioned before but I have found a pretty reliable way to recreate the problem. If you slowly roll down this ramp on the Small Island map, carefully let the car slide down the last couple meters of the ramp and then hit the gas in the correct moment the issue will occur propably around 50% of the times if you do it correctly. I hope this helps to fix the issue. Again I love the update and appreciate all the work that goes into this game. Sorry for the laggy video but I hope you get the point.
After the update I noticed these shading artifacts, they appear fuzzy/grainy. When moving the camera around, the parts of the edges of the shadows will flash. The game is in Safe Mode, all graphics settings are maxed out, and my RTX 2070's drivers are up to date. Are these artifacts native to the game or is the issue on my end? I don't mean to over scrutinize graphics, just wanted to see if I was the only one with this issue.
Press CTRL+W and select manual transmission. Go to options - graphics - postfx - SSAO - general - set quality to high
Last attempt at posting: Ever since .19, I have had a glitch where a crash, sudden stop, etc. renders the cars useless, even after reloading. The game does, in fact, work on safe mode, however I have no mods, only base vehicles modified. I have redownloaded the game twice, idk what to do. (Electric variants seem to work fine, all vehicles tested were with manual transmissions)
