Yes, but not too soon. I was originally swinging for a major release in mid-October, but I didn't get near enough done to warrant a new version. My plan is to knock out some older projects and circle back to this one starting in spring.
The map isnt complete, this has so much potential, there are buildings that arent even started and even whole districts which arent started
That's not a rework. A rework is a brand new reboot of the map, the map is incomplete and occlam's is still working on it albeit slowly.
I love this map, and it has a lot of potential and I hope tis map get finished soon or atleast a new district
I just tried that. I paved over all the "No Material" parts and just for giggles plated a tree in the middle of a small patch of "forest_floor" I accidentally made in the middle of everything. It was fairly easy to figure out how to work the editor and rather fun at that. Until the author of the map finishes it, at least I made my copy of it usable again without all the big orange No Material sections.
I just when into the material editor and deleted that material and that fixed it. Instead of paving over everything.
Well, that would have saved me time. Oh well, next time I'll know. This is all a new learning experience for me.
Right, I should probably chime in and say that the missing terrain textures are fixed for the next version. Also, if you're getting any material weirdness from the window, door, and brick trim materials, those are also being fixed as well.
All I was trying to do was make the map usable like it was before the update (18?) that broke it. It's my favorite "chase map" and the No Material area was almost like driving through a redish orange fog. Very annoying. Looking forward to the update. --- Post updated --- By the way, when it comes to police chases, I'll admit I cheat like Hell and drive through yards, behind houses, down sidewalks and anywhere else I can think of to elude the cops. This is one reason (of many) I really like your map. I know just about every square inch of it and all the hiding places. I've even gone as far as driving electric cars through the canal(?) to the other side and watch the police cars drown when they try to follow me.
If you want to fix the materials, simply use F11, located material editor and click the bin next to the "no texture" material and it will automatically remove the no textures. or you could just pain over it with grass. This map still works as of 0.19. You can edit it and expand it yourself if you're good with editing maps.
I did that. The screenshot I posted was before I trash-canned the No Material material. Funny thing happened though that I forgot to mention. The whole area that was red is now grass!
Honestly, I would love to see a city attached to this. Even if you just copy the downtown of WCUSA over and paste it here, It would add so much!
