I have been working on this mod for a while now. what i have done is taken the Ibishu Covet that gabester created and have compiled a bunch of new parts for it and different setups based on those parts. i know that this is "just another Jbeam mod" but really, its more than that. I have basically made the Covet into a car with a setup for everyone to enjoy. I am big into the sleeper kind of builds so this all looks the same as a regular covet (And, I can admit it, my modeling skills leave a lot to be desired even if i wanted to do body mods). back to the GCS Here is a list of the setups included in this mod: 4X4 Offroad 4X4 Drag 4X4 Drag Stripped FWD Drag RWD Drag Drag Sleeper City Sleeper 5spd Drag Sleeper RWD Drift Gymkhana And here is a list of the added parts that make up those builds (all parts are completely removable) : Drag Brakes with less wiggle at a complete stop Stage 1 Turbo - 300HP Stage 2 Turbo - 750HP Stage 3 Turbo - 1000HP 6spd Drag Tuned Transmission Optional Drag (lowered) Suspension and Rear Sway Bar Drag Steelies - slightly higher PSI, much stickier, and softer tread. Brightened Gauges and Red Gauge lighting when the lights are on. because red makes everything cooler, right? not sure if it will show up for others though... Rear Limited Slip Differential Standard Rear Differential Stronger front and rear suspension parts Stronger front and rear driveline parts I am Releasing this Mod because it is equipped with a good variety different parts, and is extremely fun to whip around. the Covet in stock form is also considerably tame and slow. I am Aware that the Race Update will include an improved Covet, and am looking forward to all of the new features that are part of the update. I have been well entertained by this project during the last few weeks and hope to share that entertainment with others, because a 4X4 Covet is amusing to me for some reason. This is my first Mod and the only car that i have been changing files on lately, i plan to start projects on other cars and eventually start learning how to model parts and cars. Everyone has to start somewhere, and this is where my beginning is, i hope you guys enjoy it as much as i do. I have marked this post as WIP as I am not sure if there will be errors when it is run on other systems, kind of preparing for a possible disaster i guess you could say, and there are future updates to come. All Credits go to Gabester for the Ibishu Covet and all of the other cars he has created, Cant wait to try the Pigeon too. Update V1.1: Fixed Gauge texture Increased Steering Lock for Drift Experimental Suspension changes for OffRoad Updated versions require removal of old version before installing.
Seems pretty cool, I'm downloading now, can't wait to try it out. Edit: Very good from what seems to be your first mod, but i saw that the "drift missile" version was basically a brand new covet. The definition of a drift missile is a cheap car made from spare parts and is almost just scrap metal and is for learning the basics of drifting without destroying a brand new car, and my suggestion is; if you could or want to try to design a beat up version of the covet, but that is just my thought and its your mod you can do whatever you want with it.
Downloading it now, Ill edit this post with what I think after i try it. But so far, from what Ive read it seems pretty cool. [Edit] A pretty simple mod, but for the most part it was done fairly well. Especially for it being a first mod. Although it could be improved a few ways IMO; Offroad tires and different suspension for the offroad version (the wheels are tilted oddly because of the longer springs, this could be fixed with purpose made suspension), a greater steering lock for the drift missile, wider rear slicks, and tiny front wheels for the 2wd drag, and a racing harness/rollcage. The texture is also missing from the gauges, but thats an easy fix. But overall, Good job. I like it
thats where my lack of modeling skills hinders this mod, i will work on offroad wheels and resizing the tires tomorrow, because i believe that is all doable via jbeam (i could be wrong) but the roll cage and rear drivetrain parts i dont have the ability to model.. do you possibly know why the gauge texture is missing? it is missing on my game too but i havent found the cause or how to fix it , it was working yesterday, but i must have changed something while i was fixing some other errors and messed it up, the textures are in the folder and unchanged, it is a jbeam error somewhere i believe but i cant seem to find it in the debug log as to what jbeam is causing it... im glad you like it though and thank you for the suggestions
Im sure one of the seasoned jbeamers around here would give you some advice. As for the dashboard, I have no clue. And you are very welcome sir
1989-1994 Suzuki Swift / Geo Metro essentially, the Ibishu Covet was based off of the 89-94 Swift/Metro and the 88-91 Civic Hatch
Gauges work if you load up the original, then you swap into/back into this. Awesome mod btw, it's loads of fun.
We had the same styled car, Subaru Justy (GLX) 1997 (R reg) all wheel drive. Really cool car, wanted it as my first car but it was rusted around the suspension. As for the mod, thanks, kinda like these non cosmetic mods mixed in with new vehicles and such.
Thank you. I still have to fix the positive camber in the rear, but its definitely a step in the right direction. and the drift lock is at the max that the tierods can handle, which makes it alot easier to control while its sideways. Thank you for your suggestions by the way, they were great ideas for improvement.
Anytime dude, ideas are what im best at Thank you for taking the suggestions into consideration, most people would be like "that stupid, go away"...(im not going to name anybody xD)
Not a problem, this project definitely has room for improvement, and its fun experimenting with different codes, watching the problems that form from the changes, and finding solutions to the problems. the gauges for example, were something that was completely obvious when i found the error in the materials file, especially since the gauges strangely worked fine with the headlights on. I tend to get bored of the same model after a while, and thats when i start changing codes. i have been playing with the car codes in other games as well, before i knew about beamng.
