Currently in the process of making an electric Barstow swapped with Vivace motors. Still have a few things to do (like getting skins) but I am unsure how to fix this problem of the rear motor not staying connect and falling out causing the rear axles to break.

    Looks great!
Also, I don't mod, so I have no idea how to fix it

Is your motor attached to the correct points? Motors have to attach in the certain way to the drivetrain.

What points are you referring to?

Probably the point where the shaft meets the motor in the jbeam or something like that

Talking jbeam here, but yes @jitaru that is correct. Look at the "mount points" or whatever they are called in say, the eSBR and replicate that. There's multiple attach points that keep it off the ground.

Switched from the Vivace to the eSBR seems to work a lot better. In fact here's how well it works. No FWD for now. But a great RWD.

Good thing there will be a drag version. One that can run 7's at West Coast USA. Here below is the current stage of the car. No textures unless you spawn in an eSBR. Still trying to figure that out.

you'll need to basically make a copy of the main.materials.json, and put it in your mod folder.

sorry for the late response but I have done this with changing every "SBR" to "Barstow"

you probably shouldn't change all of that. after all, what it's doing is pointing to the game where the texture files, so despite that the mod is sitting in a "barstow" folder, it should be getting the vanilla SBR's motor textures (there's no need to make a copy unless you want to change something) textures from vehicles/sbr/sbr_emotor.dds or whatever.
along with this, some other parts, like the sections in the materials that were for the SBRs interior, and bodypanels, etc, (stuff that you don't need in this mod) might actually risk overwriting the barstow's interior or bodypanel textures when you have the mod installed.

the simplest way I find to do it, is to copy and paste the unedited sbr materials into the mod, then replace "main" in the name with something else, like ebarstow.materials.json (as the first part of the name doesn't seem to matter).
that should make everything work, and if you want to make the file smaller, you can go in and delete the sections for things that aren't the SBR's motors, or batteries, (and i'd suggest just leaving suspension as well for now, as you might be able to at least do a rear suspension swap later).
-just make sure you keep the curly bracket at the very start and end, i got stuck on that for a long time because i accidentally deleted them once.
