Development Media Is this the giant "x" speculated about? The logo is smaller and more "BeamNG logo" shaped than I imagined.
It's just a tester, the textures simulates what you can have in a vehicle (car paint + non painted parts in the same material)
gone with agree, but agree is here again --- Post updated --- https://www.beamng.com/threads/where-did-agree-and-informative-ratings-go.70629/ here it is
Please don't start with that again ... at least they gave us back the "agree" button, if they have decided that the "informative" button gave too much work to the moderators it's their choice
"It's just a tester" seems like something somebody trying to hide the development of a giant X would say... kind of suspicious if you ask me. /s Performance improvements are always cool, the new system looks nicer, too, I think.
Did we really miss this? The ETK picture is totally worthless, it's a generic Nade map. But industrial and port remasters are confirmed and I guess that if he has screenshots of it, it's nearly finished. (Or maybe he just likes to take pics of unfinished maps idk) EDIT: posting this before someone else does it, ninja'd
Might just be totally due to wishful thinking, but isn’t there something different about the etk? A potential remaster could include an old Mercedes like Diesel engine, like an om617 or an om606. The latter might be better fitting and has a lot if potential for a Superturbo-variant. Also, a long wheel base could suit it quite well…
I looked really closely at the photo inside the Industrial and Port remaster folder, and in the upper left-hand corner, but not too far up, or too far left, you can see the Wendover. It's bright blue and has a front-transverse V8. /s
Ok, I'm going off topic here but has everyone forgotten about the Gavril crawler thingy? Do you people think it'll be released in 0.19.4( tbh i was expecting it in 0.19.3)
Could be a possibility too, but with the wendover literally having no hype around it, having this cool Gavril crawler aslo realeasing at the same time could very well just wipe the Wendover under the rug.( go go me salad weenie)
Obviously off-topic but what kind of shenanigans did someone do to get the informative button Thanos-snapped? Now on-topic (well kinda?): Imagine the faces of the people that doubted the Wendover if it gets the same amount of customizability as the recent vehicles did. (Bubu, FCV, and the remasters)
speaking of which, what could it get? something like a thunderbird stock car is probably too far-fetched, an EVA ("the door is ajar, tire pressure is low" voice thing) could be possible, but that's too simple and gimmicky to be the only thing they give it, I've previously mentioned the possiblilty of a tacky maserati TC-inspired "civetta special edition", (though I'd imagine that would just cause confusion, as the 12-year-olds would expect it to have a bolide v8 or something, and would subsequently write a negative review on steam or whatever they're doing these days) but would it be possible to see a convertible version? especially in the modding community, we've seen verts come a long way, with things like the satsuma 210, as well as blijo's WIP fintray roof, and the oldsfullsize. a softtop would work really well with the cheesy personal luxury coupe look. Perhaps something like air suspension, as everything basic for it is there, there just hasn't been a vanilla passenger car with it yet. further yet, they might go crazy and implement hydropneumatic suspension. that would be fun. Also, people have discussed to no end how the thing looks awkward in the near seven-year-old render images, how specifically do you guys think the styling will be changed? here's my rough idea, of course, I changed it to a coupe, gave it more more fancy taillights, and instead of simply raising the front, I opted to give it a tacky 70's looking waterfall grille, which, while it does change the appearance by making it look less "futuristic", it does fix the wedge-nose. it looks very thunderbird-y now. Speaking of convertibles, What's the bet that (if) the K series gets a convertible top, which it's roof shape suggests it should have, it'll get the long awaited v8/12, and a few TTsport Variants all at the same time? it's not really a remaster, but i'd guess they'll probably focus on individual vehicles for fleshing out content.
I'm not going to talk about the Wendover here( I'm very biased) but about the K series, I very much agree with you. I do believe that the K series is one of the more boring cars in the game, and really needs something to spice it up. The SBR4 is unique in its design, the bauguette is well polished with a load of content, the Hirochi Sunburst has the RS versions that are so nice to drive, but the K series? I mean, except for the Highway Police and Trackday variant, there really isn't much to say about it. To a normal uninformed player, in terms of gameplay it's just another 800 series that looks different and has a track variant. Something like the BMW M8 race cars would go a long way.
I also proposed the idea of a Q-platform car. This could be very interesting, as they could (and have already) mix and match cars, like the LeGran or the Pessima, that i think are perfectly reasonable cars of the era. @CaptainZoll your ideas are great, an air ride like in a NewYorker of the era, that when gets broken sags down, but we could add a full vynil roof, a landau top, 80s futuristic electronic gauge cluster, fake wood side pannelling, continental spare tyre kit and tacky interior color (in the picture i have a special version of a 90s town car but it is a good example) and garish wood trim.
