I've only been on this site a couple years or so, not posting much, and even I know the vast majority of posters refuse to actually read through a thread before replying.

I'm having a problem with the rally version. It's missing the first part of the drivetrain, so the car won't move and I don't know where's the missing part. I already checked engine, transmission and rear and front suspension but there doesn't seem to be missing anything.

Edit: nvm restarted the game and now it works

Wasn't trying to hate, just get an explanation. I love how everyone sees things as hate here, thanks.

Also, if you can't take honest feedback and comments, why post this at all. Shutting people down for it is not the way to go imo.

If only Majima everywhere was actually a well designed system.

In other terms, I'm not a particular stickler for the rules, but the model credit is going to Turn 10... Aren't those supposed to not be posted on the forum? i.e. will this get taken down?

I noticed that the rear tires of the Rally version seem smaller than the front ones...

Yeah this is supposed to be a transaxle with a torque tube running from the output shaft. This looks conventional from underneath.

TrackpadUser has summed up what constitutes a mesh-slap (which resonates with my expectations and other people's perspectives by the way); there is no standard definition of such mods nowadays because the term has been misinterpreted ever since it was used on the forums. His quote is provided below:
Nekkit and I have already admitted the 944 is based on the 200BX in terms of JBeam; at least there was effort put into the mod to differentiate it from the 200BX. It's not perfect, but it's pretty much on par with many other real-world vehicle mods using JBeam structures from official content vehicles (like the Lada Car Pack for example).

Even so, some people in the community despise such mods. Here's an answer for those people: you have the option to not download them. Enough said.

Meshslap = mesh imported from another game/bought (with maybe tiny details added) slapped onto an official Jbeam with small modifications
Mod = Actual 'home-made' mesh or edited official vehicle, with modified/scratch Jbeam and actual details (such as separate body panels, actual cool stuff,...)

imo if you think that a meshslap is a good mod, either you have really low standards, or you just don't know what BeamNG is all about.

Also, calling something a meshslap is neither an insult or hate, it's simply criticism or a personal opinion. Don't like it? Too bad. That's an opinion and you can't change it.
As much as I love Nekkit's work, this is a meshslap. A good meshslap, but a meshslap none the less.

The issue I have with using the term "meshslap" in this context is that mods like Nekkit's are put in the same bin as the garbage "private mods" which are getting posted on community screen shots.

There is a lot of negativity associated to that term, and for some reason a lot of threads related to those mods turn in arguments, even to the point of getting threads locked/deleted and spilling over into other threads.

But these mods are actually a decent way to get into modding, and I think we can all agree that the more people are getting into modding the better it is for the community. Pretty sure at some point some of these people will move to other types of mods, or work on importing models that 100% require new Jbeam.

At the end of the day when it comes to the amount of work, I'd argue that meshslaps like this require more effort than the dozens of wagons and convertible variants of vanilla cars we have on the repo, which are an other great way to get into jbeaming.

I don't think we should be discouraging this kind of modding by starting arguments every single time and putting it in the same general category as garbage russian mods.

That is exactly the reason why I said that the term "meshslap" was neither an insult of a form of hate. It's a category of things, and this mod is a part of it.
I never said I didn't like it, or that I found it bad, I simply said it was a meshslap.

I also totally agree with you there. It's a simple and effective way to get a vehicle in-game, but it doesn't have the details and charm that a tailor-made mod has. Still a good way to get into modding tho.
