So i've been getting into mods for games and have done small script mods and some small modeling mods but i've never done anything like beam and node or whatever they may be called. I heard a lot about its text based and you need some kinda text editor to make the skeletons of your car. Could anyone help me with this? how could I learn, because I want to be able to get into modding for this game when it is out because it has so much potential for mods?

    Thanks guys

You will need note pad. And this game is not yes as we know. Try rigs of rods with beam and nodes. :) I dont know muckh about moding games.

Yeah, try RoR and look how the nodes are made there. But in BeamNG the nodes will have any name, not number, so you could have a node called "engine10" instead of "1592", making it a lot easier to do it ...in notepad.
I have no idea if there is an editor for BeamNG, but I'm guessing not yet. There is an editor in RoR though.

I also have a few models laying around, and i'd love to finish them, and port them into the new game. So count me as a "+1" as I'm waiting too for some editor, or concept of the stucture and hierarchy of the file/physics system wich the model should be prepared for. And also, i dont get the main workflow with beams and nodes either. Still quite hazy stuff, but there is alot of time for these stuff i assume :)

I use Notepad++, with the game itself as a viewer (CTRL + R reloads the file). There are some 3rd party editors being made, and eventually we would like to release a nice 3D editor with a GUI, but for now this is the only option.

I really wish someone would make a small tutorial on node and beam basics, because when I can grasp the general idea, I can slowly learn the rest.

It would be hugely appreciated if someone did.

Yeah, I already knew about it, but it seems too vague (I have moderate ADD, so my brain misses things when I read.). I just kind of want a step-by-step video on getting started. Then maybe some tuts on adding parts, tweaking certain actions, and other important things.

I know I am asking a lot, but if someone made these tutorials it would help start a community or makers, not cancelers.
