    Progress update #2:
Finally got blender to import the dseries, did some bumper modifying, cut a sunroof, redesigned the tail lights, and put a Roamer front fascia on it. I like the Roamer fascia IMO, but I can remove it if you guys don't like it.

I think there's already a Roamer fascia swap for the D series. I think you could model similar to a 2008 Chevy Silverado. That truck had a modern design, but the interior was still outdated so I think a round, smooth shape like the Silverado 08 would be a design flow to use as example, and updating the interior slightly should make it a bit easier. The 2008 Silverado was an advanced design, but the interior was a bit lacking for the design. Just my idea

This could also work. It's not as round as a Silverado, and I think this holds better to the original D series

Finally, a pickup facelift that isn't just a roamer fascia duct-taped to the front

Ok I will use something different. Also importing vehicles into blender is kind of a long explanation, so I’ll tell you when I wake up tomorrow.

it's not a long explanation. If you're on steam, go to the common files of steam in file explorer and go to the content files and everything is there

It should be at your bottom taskbar, it's the shape of a filing folder. you can also search it when you open the Windows button on the left low corner :\

if you were gonna do something for 2007-2012 just swapping a few parts on the current d-series likely wouldnt be valid plan

That looks nice, and an awful lot like the Ford F-150 based model in GTAV. But very nice, and am keen to follow the progress. I need to learn how to start making mods, soon. Will be my summer project.

I think you should go with a ford design even thought the d series is a square shape it still goes with ford style but that's my opinion but i would say add both Chevy and Ford style.

Why would you facelift a car from the late 80s?
