One guy has bought a private mod for big money. This mod was absolutly sh#t. And the most interesting part of it - Author has upload it for free on site :|

Idk, maybe it`s just a myth. But I heard in one video with bootleg mods author said, that you can get viruses from downloading them. No link, because I don`t have a permission

Yes, in one occasion, I tried downloading a Russian mod, and my McAfee antivirus triggered telling me it was a virus...

Thank God I had an Antivirus

the only 'good' russian mods either are severely outdated and lack 99% of the recent features (ex. the f40 has a pretty good jbeam, along with the bronco iirc, and some others, but were made during the dinosaur age)
not even for photos, because most meshslaps are so bad anyways that they use generic materials code that look awful, aren't materialized properly at all, use shitty low res textures, and sometimes the authors don't even bother with transparency at all.
most sites, while sketchy, don't contain any viruses, although there is no reason to even bother with the stupid download process anyways.

tldr, no.

1. Useless thread
2. There is no good russian mods (Nekkit sry)
3. Meshlaboratory
4. +7 users with virus

 

Nah, Nekkit’s mods are awesome IMO
